I had this spammer whom emailed everyone on my site. I removed the user & deleted the mail message from my inbox. The total # of emails still shows 4 even though I only have 3 visible mail messages in my INBOX.
What's really weird is that I can view this piece of mail via mobile on my iPhone boonex app, but not on my PC via web browser.
I think part of the problem was that I removed the spammer before I deleted the spammers mail message.
Btw: it's not in the Trash.
Anyone have this issue & how can I clear out my inbox?
Thank you..

What version of Dolphin do you have ?
Problem with displaying deleted massages in mobile app was resolved in 7.0.9.

I'm currently running Dolphin 7.0.8, but when I initially noticed the bug I think I had 7.0.6 installed.
I know that you have fixed a bug which allowed users to view deleted mail messages via the mobile app. I have applied that fix to my copy, but I'm still able to see the message from the deleted user.
When I bring up the mail message using the iPhone mobile app theres a space where it should display the members profile pic, but instead it shows "Connection Error" & then to the right side of that "From (null)"
Thanks.

It's better to apply the patch, since it was more than one fix regarding this problem.

I've currently applied 22 of the 40 fixes. It makes more sense for me to do it this way due to the numerous mod's I have installed.
Thanks.

Ok, make sure that both change set are applied from this ticket:

Those two were part of the 22 applied.
My trash shows nothing in it, but it still shows a larger mail count in the member menu/taskbar than I have in my inbox. I can also still see the mail that was sent from that deleted user via mobile. The fix didn't remove the residual trace of the deleted members mail.
Is there another way to ensure that the trash in my mailbox is emptied?
Thanks for your help. :)

You are right, messages related to deleted member aren't displayed in site's inbox, but displayed in mobile app and also counted and displayed in notifications' floating bar.
Possible solutions:
1) delete all messages when user is deleted
2) leave messages and allow user to delete it by themselves
Also what solution are you for ?

When deleting the member having the option to keep their mail or remove it would be ideal, but if that's not possible #2 is my choice.
In my case the user was deleted due to inappropriate mail messages being sent to numerous members. If there is a dispute, referencing to the mail messages might prove useful. It could be identified as "deleted member" in the inbox.
Thanks for being thorough! :)

This is completely unrelated but I think I've found another Bug which relates to 2 fields.
The "DescriptionMe" & "Headline" fields are always Mandatory. I currently have Mandatory unchecked under Fields Builder for Description & Headline, yet it gives me an exclamation when left blank on the Profile edit page when I try to save.
I'm somewhat new to all this, so I might be doing something wrong.
Thank you..

I was searching the forum & came across this: http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Hedline-and-dscription.htm
It appears the person in the above thread is having the opposite occur with the Description & Headline fields. He has the Mandatory option checked, but users are allowed to save their profile with the Description & Headline fields left blank. It seems the function is reversed.
Thanks!

New ticket for this was added today. Apparently it was happening because I had the Minimum & Maximum values filled in. You have to clear it out otherwise unchecking Mandatory has no effect.
Thanks.

I just experienced this too, i don't know if it is about a deleted user or not, but two of my test accounts showed emails in their inbox but there were none. I checked sys_messages and just delete all for these users. After that totals for inbox were correct again.
Is there any fix for this yet? It would be great if a member could delete these emails by himself.

I found out that in my case it might not be a bug by dolphin. I use Game Zone and saw the script is sending messages with a SenderID 0 to other members. Thats an invalid ID i think.
I contacted the company behind this script.

I still face this problem (7.0.9). Where i can make the changes so the emails got deleted in sys_messages when the user deregisters or the admin (system) deletes them?
Edit: I just saw this was fixed in 7.1 (http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/ticket/2751). Can this be applied to 7.0.9 withour running into trouble?
If so, how to change forBxDolXMLRPCMessages.php? This line looks different.

Anyone can tell if its possible?
Thanks

Yes, this fix should be compatible with 7.0.9:

But always make backups before making any changes.
