Default privacy values not respected in timeline

- Default privacy values are not respected in wall module. I set 'PrivacyDefaultGroup' and 'allow_view_to' in database 'Profiles' to default to 5 and created a new dolphin user. Result: Timeline has privacy set to 3 not 5.

- Is it intentional that 'block_id' for Profile > Profile > Timeline/Post to Timeline and Profile > Timeline > Timeline/Post to Timeline is different? It is quite hard for a user to understand that he has to do privacy settings for 'the same' twice.

- If privacy doesn't allow me to see the timeline of a user (/m/wall/index/_USER_) there is not the usual 'LIMITED VISIBILITY' message. No content is displayed and it tells me I'm here: Home > me > Timeline.

- Why is there no setting to change the default values ('PrivacyDefaultGroup', 'allow_view_to' in 'Profiles') for new profiles? Defaulting to pubilc is not acceptable.

- When creating a profile a new album (photo and video) is set up. Default privacy values are not respected: albums are public.

I have noticed problems with privacy settings in the database as well.  It is set to default to 3.  I have had problems in which I had to go into the database and manually change the default value.

In fact, the whole privacy thing should be re-examined.

I am also having many problems with the default privacy settings (dolphin 7.14). Some privacy settings made content disappear for everyone, including the admin. So I left that problem to solve later. The release date of my site is approaching and there are still many things that need to be set and corrected.

But once I get to work with the problem of privacy settings, I'll be back here in this post.

Hello

1.  - 'PrivacyDefaultGroup' - Dolphin has a special choice 'default' in privacy settings dropdown. So, the value in this field is used for this 'default' choice. However this 'default' choice is not selected by default. Usually 'Public' is selected there.
- 'allow_view_to' in Profiles table - is used for the whole profile page visibility. So, none of these settings can be used for Timeline.

2. They are the different pages with different instances of Timeline block. Therefore they have different IDs.

3. You're right. It would be better to use something like this here. It should be fixed in next build.

4. If you change the default value for 'allow_view_to' field in Dolphin's database -> Profiles table from 3 to someone else it will change the default value for Profile View page only. I rechecked it and it works as it should.

5. The same as with Timeline. The values you've changed are not responsible with visibility of Photo/Sound/Video albums.

You don't seem to understand the problem: How do I set it up that a new profile has privacy setting x (not the hard coded 3) for everything?

1. and 5. This does only apply to an existing profile. What keys are responsible when creating a new profile?

2. Isn't it the same content? If its the same content the blocks should have the same privacy setting. As a user I don't care if it's a different page. I don't want other people than specified to see this content. And I don't get it why I should do the same setting twice.

4. The point is: There should be a setting in admin panel to do it.
