Deal Finder Mod Support (Modzzz)

This is the support forum for the Deals mod.

Version 2.0.1 released.

Fixes problem with the Countdown Timer for sale end date not being displayed.

Clients can download the mod and check the patches/version_2.0.1 folder for upgrade instructions.

Fixes issue with distinguishing between cities with the same name but in different states.

Adds the ability for Admin to set the number of featured deals and stores on main page.

Adds integration with Business Listings.
Adds the ability to drill-down local listings by Category.

 If you applied this patch already, please re-do the file updates (do not run the sqlupdate.php again)

Adds ability for admin to configure whether or not members can post deals for stores added by other members.

This mod is now updated for Dolphin 7.1

For Dolphin 7.1 version, download again and upload this missing file :

    modules/modzzz/deals/classes/BxDealsSiteMaps.php

An update has been made to facilitate using the count down time with other languages. The following file is updated.

    modules/modzzz/deals/classes/BxDealsModule.php

I have a issue with the link in 'website' section of deal finder.

when users (affiliates etc) add deals the entire link is showed and is not reduced to main URL ....

Example: amazon.com/blah/blah/blah >> should show as 'amazon.com'

Also long links are cut in half :

Example: amazon.com/blah/blah/blah/blah/blah/blah/blah/blah/blah is cut in half to

amazon.com/blah/blah/blah/blah/ and breaks actual correct link!

Increase the length of the website field to accommodate long URLs.

Some layout adjustments made (store contact and location info placed in separate blocks etc.)

is it possible to reduce long URL paths to main URL please ?

Amazon.com Looks far better than: amazon.com/path/path/path/path/path

I think all users of this mod would agree its much better to have URL's auto show like such!

 Including my last post .. is it possible to have the website link to deal open in new window ?

currently if click website link it takes the user away from your site

when I edit deal .... I am not able to add 'store'

currently you only have option to add store when first adding deal >> if its not done and you try to add store at later date you are not too?!

Hi, modzzz... I am wondering about the things I have said about?

sorry to be a pain, but deals mod is used a lot by my users and I am trying to get these small things sorted out :)

 Your suggestions are noted, however these are not considered high priority changes and therefore will not be implemented immediately. They will eventually be implemented though.

 can I ask about the option of adding / editing store after deal is added?

I think this is a high priority issue ... 

The option only exists if you add store before submitting a deal > after the option has vanished

I  also thing that taking users away from your site is also a important issue >> if anyone clicks website link to deal they are taken away from your site rather than a new page opening.

I have a some issues / bugs with the 'store' pages for deal finder ...

1) When you push the 'next button' of 'Deals found at this Store' block >> it spins none stop and does not load next amount of deals at that store.

2) if you click 'view all' deals at botton of 'Deals found at this Store' block the Title shows as '_modzzz_deals_page_title_browse'

I have a problem ... I keep getting these errors and I'm not sure why:-

Database query error

Query:
UPDATE `modzzz_deals_main` SET `title` = 'Samsung 350E7C 17.3-inch Laptop @ Amazon',`desc` = 'rnrnrnrnrnrnrn

Mysql error:
Unknown column 'store_name' in 'field list'

 Re-upload the modules/modzzz/deals/classes folder.

I noticed since I updated mod the deal 'location' has vanished?!

When editing deal I do not see where to add location either ...

 Bump this ...

there is still issues with the deal 'website' URL

really long URL's are cut in half and don't land on correct page when clicked

 An example is this affiliate link:- http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ANZNBY4/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B00ANZNBY4&linkCode=as2&tag=iaffiliat-21

is reduced to this which is basically a broken URL:- http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ANZNBY4/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creati

This issue was resolved in patch 2.0.9 . Run the following SQL statement in your phpmyadmin :

ALTER TABLE `modzzz_deals_main` CHANGE `website` `website` varchar(255) NOT NULL default '';

 Ahh ... I have this working now :)

Missing language strings have been added. Re-upload the language folder (modules\modzzz\deals\install\langs) then login to your Admin panel and recompile the language for this module.

This mod has been updated to facilitate better integration with the Business Listing module. The following files are modified :

modules\modzzz\deals\classes\BxDealsFormAdd.php
modules\modzzz\deals\classes\BxDealsModule.php

The price of this module has been reduced.

This module is now compatible with Dolphin 7.2 . For those upgrading from Dolphin 7.1, please check the upgrade folder for instructions.

Several display adjustments have been made. Re-upload files, clear cache and re-compile the language for the module.
