Dateofbirth field problem

Hello, I require to enter in a field type text  the range of ages to find, usually the  type of field is Date, when you change it to type text displays well in the quicksearch but also changes the entry of date in the join form  and DateTimePicker doesn´t appears in the join form.

  I require to have the field type text in the quicksearh and field with DateTimePicker in the join form, 

I need my dateofbrith field has the type specified above.

please any idea to try?

I would like to (try to) help, but i am not sure to understand what do you mean.

You want to have a field where someone choose his age by choosing it in a format like 20,21..55,etc instead of having to select a date of birth??
