Date of birth in join

i have been trying to find a way to change the layout of the date of birth system on the join form so instead of the popup calendar it is a drop down selector, but im not having much luck, anyone know a way this could be done?

You have to find that bit of code and change it to a select; and you will need to split the field because you will need one for the day, one for the month, and one for the year since they need to select each independently.  Then you need to combine them for the date field.

Any tips on how i would start it off (where to find code etc) please?

Thanks

He's not having a problem wit it, he's just trying to change it.

I am curious, why do you want a drop down? That's a lot of dates to cycle through to find the one your looking for. The calendar works much easier..

Yes, as I outlined, there would need to be three drop downs, one for day, month, year; so your users would need to select from each one.  Then we would need to combine these values to be entered in the database as a single date.

However, if you are receiving complaints of the calendar not working, a Chrome update broke the calender from working in Chrome.  I also have heard some complain of IE9 but have not investigated IE9.  That is why I asked about the update.  I am not sure what ticket this is; but there was a lot of postings about the calendar not working in Chrome.

Do a search. I also found the calendar would not work in the beta versions of firefox.

I heard that the new updates of FireFox and Chrome are breaking some of the javascript libraries.  Not sure how true this is but I do believe that Mozilla did make changes to their javascript engine.
