D7RC1 [Bug] Privacy Settings Conflict

Say you access the "Simple Messenger Privacy Settings" by clicking on the link within the SM bar ("Settings" icon). Set it to "Me only".

Then, later change it back to "Public", only this time do it from within the normal Privacy Settings page (the one you access from your Dashboard). The change does not take. SM behaviour remains as in "Me Only" and it can only be overriden by making the change again by accessing the above-mentioned link to Simple Messenger Privacy Settings within the SM bar.

Please test an confirm.

Tested on online demo using FF3.5.5

LOL We were both testing at the same time, so we tried the Privacy settings for the Simple Messenger together.

At least now to fix the bugs will not require a tear down of your site!

This is not a bug!

You set default values for privacy fields in dashboard menu.Since privacy is set for some content, it can not be changed from dashboards menu.

The only exception is default group, you can set privacy for SM(for example) to default group and then change default group privacy to some value in dashboard menu and it will affect all your content where default group is selected.

Privacy Settings that cannot be changed any more from Dashboard menu have to not to be displayed, to be displayed using light grey color or an alert explaining how to change the Privacy Setting has to popup...
