D7 question/suggestion

Are the members only allowed to upload pics from their computer into their albums? I tried adding some pics to a thread in the forum, and while I can hotlink from a url, I cannot upload from my computer. Now that I see this post editor I see it's identical. Is there a design reason to leave out that ability in the forum?

Also...

When posting in the forum it would be very convenient to have the "reply to post" navigation link at the bottom of the thread as well. So they can respond to the thread without having to scroll back to the top.

There must be a way to allow attachments from someones computer.

Yes, only members can upload files to albums, visitors can't do it.

Thanks. I do understand that part. What I would like to see is the ability for members to upload pics to the "forum" from their computer. The only way the post editor allows for pics is to hotlink from a URL. Which is fine unless you want to add a pic of your own to a forum or blog post. There is no "Attachment" ability. Just like I cannot attach a pic here on this forum. I can hotlink but not attach from my computer.
