The first activity title does not gets displayed as you can see below:
When I view my own profile, I still get a notification. I think if the owner views his/her own profile, no notifications should be sent as this could be a redundant thing.Unless there is some control which allows you to control which notifications should be sent and which not, I have not encountered such a thing so far though....
