Couples Profiles

Im currently trying to build a swingers website so for this i will mainly be attracting couples to the site, now i have used dolphin over the past few years for different websites and there as always been the couple option available to people, but still to this day apart from allowing couples to create a profile the couple function is very limited compared to 'single' people joining the site, for example: there is no option for members to search for couples in the member search, it only allows people to search for men or women and no couples search option, obviously with me building a swingers site it means that members will want to search for other couples aswell as single people, looking at other couples websites i have noticed pretty much all of them having the search option as below:

      i am a:  Man

                   Woman

                   Couple (Male&Female)

                   Couple (2Men)

                   Couple (2Women)

Looking for: Man

                    Woman

                    Couple (Male&Female)

                    Couple (2Men)

                    Couple (2Women)

Since when a couple joins the website they choose what sex each member of the couple is along with the age of each of the couple so is there a simple ish way i can be possible to include couples on the search member options as listed earlier, also another big thing i have noticed it the profile picture/thumbnail for couples is still split into 2 pictures which i totaly understand but again is there a easy way to make it like single profiles as to where the couples profile picture can just be one picture instead of split into two as it is on pretty much every other site that allows couples to create profiles, sorry to go on but i just find it confusing as to couples having the option to join but after join they are pretty much left redundant :/

I beginning to loose hope a bit now as if I can't sort the couples issue out then I think I'm going to have to throw the towel in on using dolphin altogether as a platform, it will be a shame as I have used it for a few years now but because the main target for my latest site will be couples then I may have no option, so any help would be greatfully accepted  :)

Why use the couples? What I did is took couples out all together. Yes that does take out the different options on one profile. But most times they are the same things anyways. I took the sex and added couples there in the pre values. you can add what ever you want(couple m/m, couple m/w, couple w/w). then change the value of the keys in the looking for.

Thanks for your reply and I did think about doing it that way but if done that way then you only get to input the details of one person from the couple but for what I need then I would need the age and sex of each person in that couples or I'm stuck :/

I'm in the same situation. I think I'll disable couples profile and use this Module to add the detail fields for the second person if they select "Couple":
