Control permalinks, meta and settings not the same

Hi

I am trying to do some SEO work and looking to update and or control the titles, meta and perma links on the site but am unable to locate where that can be done. we are using version 7.1.

Per your documentation under settings it indicates you are to have the following:

When I look in our admin panel, the below is not complete in our admin panel, meaning, it does not display items such as meta tags, permalinks and so forth if you do a comparison with documentation.

Not sure what to do to access or locate the items needed to change title tags and perma links. I will explore again but this is currently my challenge.

I have attached a print screen of what i see under settings in our admin section that does not compare to your documentation which i have pasted below.

Just to be clear. I do see see where you can control the permalinks, meta and title tags for the home page but not anywhere else.

and the search engines are indexing a number of pages with incorrect or nonsensical titles that i would like to change.

Page titles can be searched for and edited in Admin Panel -> Settings -> Language Settings.

You can also search your script for the code$_page['header']and edit the value of this variable where needed.
Such variables can be found in the modules' folders for each module (for example, modules/boonex/blogs), or in the templates folder (for example, templates/base/scripts). The location depends on what page exactly you need to edit.

Some meta keywords are also stored in the language file, for example, search for the key _bx_poll_keyword in Admin Panel -> Settings -> Language Settings, and you will be given the keywords for the Polls Home page.

HI Thank you i am looking at the information you provided and i have a couple of questions to date.

I located the list of what i think are pages per your instructions, there are hundreds of them.

In any event when i located them i get a list and then it has an "EDIT" link. So in the area where it is labeled: String Text For English Language" Is This The META KEY WORD Area? Does What I Enter There Appear Anywhere On The Actual Page Or Again This Is Meta Information?

Hi,

Another question:

i want to edit the name of the link on various pages so it has terms Relevant to the page and content.

when i search for pages per your Instructions in the languages section, there are two fields, the first one "Key Name"

is what appears as part of the link (Key Name Field)

The Key Name field ,  does that determine the link to that associated page and MOST IMPORTANTLY if i were to edit it from that field  with terms i would like,

would it break the module, page or anything? Am I able to edit this field at will what my words i would like in the link without harming the integrity of the web site,

pages or modules?

Thank you

The "key name" is the system key name and should not get modified. You should modify only the "strings" for the languages (English and Russian by default).

You should not change the key names but you can harmlessly change the strings.
