Control of "Recently Added" & "Featured" homepage listings... how?

Does anyone know how or where to change the code or database to control the number of Recently Added items for a particular module?   The module in question, GPS Routes by scriptologist (Mark), does not have an admin setting for the number of "Recently Added" items and I'd like to limit the listing to two instances.  (I asked Mark... he doesn't know.)

Alternatively, and a better solution, would be to switch the homepage list to simply display "Featured" items... then I might control how many are displayed by the number of  "Featured" instances (in this case 'Routes')... until I can hire someone to code it properly.  Though I'm able to set instances to "Featured", and un-feature them, there is no admin option to set the homepage list to display "Featured" , "Recently Added" , "Popular", etc... or how many to display.

Hello,

I don't think anybody can help from here. To find a solution anyone needs to view the code. So, only the creator or your hired developer can do that

so much to do....

I'd been told of this by another developer and I just double checked to make sure... scriptologist (Mark) used the default Sites module as the foundation for his GPS Routes module.  Unfortunately Mark left in some unnecessary code while removing other admin-related code that would have been very useful.  For example, Mark left in "Activate all sites after creation automatically" checkbox, which MUST be checked... since he removed the section "Pending Approval" to administer those added if it's not checked.

The default Sites module displays *only* Recently Added sites... how would I convert that module to display Featured sites on the homepage?  I should be able to extrapolate the change to work on for the routes module.

I think you should ask him which module he had taken as base and then compare that module with your one and find the missing code that is removed by him. Its not easy and incomplete code will cause errors so be careful with that.

I should, but I won't... asking modloaded.net for support help has proven to be very unproductive.  However, I did compare their Routes module with the boonex Sites module and found many instances of "Sites" specific comments in both.  I even found where Mark commented out the missing admin functions.  The sites file is \classes\BxSitesModule.php  around line 950... $aMenu

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
