Confirming Authentic User Accounts

I'm still in construction phase of my website and I see that 2 new accounts have joined my website. Something doesn't seem right about the accounts, as they have immediately setup multiple blogs that look strange. Links are inserted in places that don't fit with the wording. How can I tell if these new users who have joined my site are authentic users and not some sort of bot accounts that have been setup?

Sorry if this question seems strange, this is my first website.

If the members are creating blogs with links or are putting links in the profile description/about me then it is most likley a spammer. I get those crap accounts all the time on my site.

If your site is topic specific  like mine and you aren't worried about signing every person that cruises through, you can set your system where each account has to be verified manually, then approved. A sure fire way to keep the aliens out.

Wow fun...I'm creating somewhat of a benevolent support through media community and sounds like I'm going to have to learn how to put my foot down on and find a way of creating rules and terms that layout the parameters of what is and isn't acceptable appropriate. I want people to be able to have freedom but not so free that all they do is promote their own agenda...such as taking up blog space for selling their product. Yep lots to learn. Thanks guys!

You will probably end up having to ban half the planet to avoid this type of spam..... oh.... IDEA.... "BING".... Pehraps i should make www.SPAM.com - A site dedicated to just spam in wghich nigerians, chineese etc can spam till their hearts content. Atleast I'd get a lot of members.

I doubt spammers will pay attention to your site's rules.
