Configure Password

Hi-

I had a member try and join with the password

quantumleap39

He sent me a screenshot where Dolphin said the passwords did not match.

I tried to create a dummy account using the same password and I too received that passwords did not match even though I know, I tried a couple of times...

I entered quantumleap and the password was accepted.

Seems like quanumleap39 should be a valid password.

Thanks!

Are you using an older version of Dolphin? In 7.0.7 - 7.0.9 it's set to 16 characters unless you changed it.

So-

Two things:

1) I was unable to locate in the admin console where to check the password settings.

2) if the length is the issue, then the error message is the incorrect...

Where do I check the password settings?

Is there a correct message for the password not meeting minimum requirments?

Thanks!

I was unable to duplicate the problem. I tried the password you provided and did not have a problem with passwords don't match. I also tested using a password that was longer than 16 chars and was presented with the proper message that the password was to long.

Check in admin fields builder. Under join form check the password length to see if it has been changed from the default of 16.

Good day, I know this is an old topic but is there a way to increase the maximum length of the password in Dolphin

Can it support more than 16 characters

Best regards

This has been asked and answered before in the forums so a search would have given the answer; however, Deano gave you the answer just above your post:

"Check in admin fields builder. Under join form check the password length to see if it has been changed from the default of 16."

If 7.1.x, you go to the builder and profile fields and find the password item and change the number of characters for the password; easy peasy.
