Completely confused

Okay, I just got my site up today and I'm totally in the dark! First, is there a manual somewhere to read how to get your site set up? I don't know how to set up/add the blocks on the home page like "public sounds" or "public photos" etc. I don't know how to change the info on the "about us" page or the copyright at the bottom of the pages and most of the small stuff that is no doubt right in front of me as to how to do it. Someone please help! Thx!!!

The support is useless, the basic stuff you can find numerous topics about in a forum search on here.

For anything else, expect to be waiting months if not years to get your site set up how you want it.

i feel your pain, was very confused to begin with (well, maybe not as confused as you because i had a go at this software around 2 years ago for a brief time) but just jump on the forum search like the others suggested and you will find everything you need. if not, make a post asking and people will help out =). the community is very helpful in that way

Thx for the responses! I will search around the forum for some answers! One question though I hope someone can answer: When I go into my own profile, there is no place to download an avatar for my profile ( I don't want this to happen to members). I think it's messed up somehow, because under the dashboard tab, one of the tab choices is "_bx_ava_avatar" and when I go there, it's just an empty box stating "modual (avatar) was not found". Anyone know how to fix this? Thx!

I too feel your pain.  I used another social networking software that wasn't as sophisticated as this about two years ago.  For a person that know no PHP coding at all,I was able to go into the files look at how they had the original script and make some basic adjustment.  While I think Doplhin is far more sophisticated, I think its sophistication is causing me a lot of frustratation.  I don't know where to go in the Admin panel to do basic things.   The threads in the forum are for experienced users.  They should have a sub-section for new inexperienced users.

For Example:

Remove quotes

Get my flash file working correctly in the promo area

Change the template /font/ and box header colors on the page.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get these basic tasks done that would be helpful

You need to install the Avatar module. As well as any additional modules you want.

Admin->Tools->Modules.

I found it!! I searched the web and found a website called DialMe.com with lots of tutoriials and advice. Thx to whomever hosts this site, good advice! (it's a dolphin site too!)
