so, as it stands right now - things seem to be working well on all three instances of Chat. Except when it comes to using an Iphone. Not getting the request to access camera and/or mic on Iphone and as such - iphone user is unable to video or voice chat. Any workarounds or fixes?

"WebRTC" works on any devices.

However, for audio/video... only works through mobile apps. Audio/video through mobile web browsers are not available at the moment. Basically, we're waiting for browsers to add webRTC audio/video capability.

the mobile app does not work either with the Iphone. Have you been able to test? Or is your statement just based on what should be? Not trying to be rude, just wondering if anyone has been successful with an Apple device.

Also - video and audio is not limited to mobile app - it works great for me in a website (browser) on a pc or mobile device (except iphone or ipads) - while the mobile app sucks.

But to clarify - chat works on iphone - just not video or audio.

Anyone got an Iphone or IPad to assist me in testing this out. Maybe it is something with the phone I was testing with.

RocketChat has iOS and Android apps. We haven't worked with them yet. The plan is to release 7.3 with initial Chat+ integration and then work on full-package integration in 7.4.

I used RocketChat android app and got to know, it's better to use the browser than to waste 23 MB data and memory for the app.

There is nothing in the app. It will just load your website configuration and 99% of the time it will not load only. It's just web embedded in an android app which does not work 99% of the time!!

the app does install and somewhat work for me - but it is still not good enough to advertise though. Website is way smoother. This is with the Dolphin compiled version and the regular version from github.

So, I am still not getting Iphones to work with Rocket.Chat. I thought maybe it was something with the Dolphin version so went back to a fresh install of the version direct from GitHub - following the instructions for a development install. Unfortunately, same thing. While text chatting works fine - it is still not recognizing user has a camera/mic.

If anyone is interested in testing and giving their input - the url is https://chat.cvp71.com

Don't forget to bring your charger. Wink
