Im sharing this because i have been trying for ages (like so many) to sort that dam couples thumbnail image out from 2 images to just the one image like single profiles, i have done this on version 7.1 and works fine :)
So here goes, its just one change you need to do:
Find :templates/base/thumbnail_single.html
Go into:thumbnail_single.html copy ALL of the code in that file
Then go into:templates/base/thumbnail_couple.html and replace the code in that file with the code you copied from thumbnail_single.html
Save and clear the cache :)
Or you can make a copy of thumbnail_single.html rename and replace it to thumbnail_couple.html
All done, if anyone needs help with this then give me a shout!!

After this you'll have one photo on the thumbnail, of one person from this couple. Another person will be mad. :) http://boonexpert.com |

haha im sure they will cope :) most sites around that are aimed towards couples only have a thumbnail that has one image on it anyway, i have not till this day seen a website that splits the thumbnail into two images for a couple.

Evidently the couple thing was not well thought out. Having half a thumb from each doesn't work. Plus, is the couple profile truly shared or is it the first profile is the main profile and the second is just addition info of a partner? A couple profile should be a true shared profile. If I see a comment, it should show the thumb of the person that was logged in and left it. For example, was it the first person or the second person that left the comment? For me, the solution is going to be to pull the whole couple profile thing. A couple can just set up two different profiles. Geeks, making the world a better place |
I followed the simple steps replacing the code in "templates / base / thumbnail_couple.html" by "humbnail_single.html". I have cleaned all the cache.
True, only a photograph appears in place of half and half, but it gives other major faults, the member's name does not appear and disturbs me parts of the web

yeah - the couples idea seems a bit awkward. What happens if the couple breaks up - lol. Who gets control of the coupled account?
I would recommend the Sub Profiles mod - that way each person has their own login and such. Also, if using the referral module, I believe each gets credit for referrals independently.

What about recommending that your "couples" upload a pic of them together - and still use the one image hack? caredesign.net |
in the case of our website, if a couple breaks up, the user is deleted.
the only thing I want is that the avatar image does not leave halved
only 1 avatar

Now that is the general idea. Evidently you are the only person ever associated with boonex that has actually visited a 'couples' member site. That is how ALL couples related member sites do it. Boonex associates could actually learn from visiting other websites. And perhaps even notice that most other sites do not force members to use avatars or last uploaded pic as their default thumbnail also. Thank You for posting this, perhaps 'someone' here will use your advice wisely.
