Is there a way to change your "Cover Photo" from the list of photos you already have? Whenever I click on "Change Cover", I get a display for uploading photos along with a list of current and past cover photos. When I click on a photo that I had in the past for cover photos, I then get the display for "View Photo" (see attachments). The original photo remains unchanged... This is very confusing to me. Is there a way to change my cover photo from my current list without having to upload it all over again, or upload a totally new photo?? Thanks for any help. |
When you are at the Cover Photos, choose "Organize" from the drop-down selection at the right side.
Then drag & drop the photo you want to set as your cover photo to the first position.

Got it... Thanks Annnalotta!! |
If you have a lot of cover photos and would like to rotate them regularly on the site instead of having the standard Dolphin photo appear everywhere. Have a look at my mod. It displays a different cover photo on every profile until the member replaces it with their own. If you want a free copy, just ask.

Just click the individual members names or a single member.

Thanks johnk42... That's a nice mod and, yes, I'd like to try it out. Thanks again! |
I'll send you the URL for a download in a day or so. In the meantime, you can prepare your cover photos. I have 30 running on one site and 4 on the demo site.
The photos should be 1300 x 340 pixels. (96dpi at 80% is good)
I'm very busy. If you don't hear from me by Thursday night, PM me.

It ain't easy being this stupid all of the time |
Thanks Johnk42, but from what I'm gathering, the BoonEx software will only allow me to load up to 900x300 resolution. When I tried to load the size photo that you mentioned, I just got a black box. |
@Stevexyz, if you prepare the photos correctly each one should be no larger that 80-100 kb. Resolution is quite different to physical size which is measured in pixels. the 1300 pixel wide photos won't present a problem to Dolphin or your server's PHP requirements unless the resolution is greater than 96dpi (dots per inch). Don't upload the photos yet because they don't go in any traditional folders. Just prepare them at this stage and my tutorial which I'm still writing will explain where they go. |
