Change Avatar Size on Profile and other pages

The avatar is an important part of a person's profile and it should not be a tiny dot on the page.  I have searched the forum without much luck on this simple change.  The avatar module has 32x32 avatars and 64x54 avatars.  When you go to the home/index.php you have a nice size avatar; it should be the same for the profile page and other pages.  For the activity page the tiny icons are fine, but not for profile page, the identity page

See attached image for understanding what avatar I am speaking of.

So the question, of course, is how to switch to the 64x64 size avatar?

I am not sure how to do that. I am sure the code that generates the menus will have to be changed. I will need to look it up.

But your photo did not show enough detail on the page to see if you uploaded an actual profile photo.

The avatar concept in dolphin is flawed. Avatars and profile photos are treated separately.

Instead it should be done like on facebook where you upload a photo, it's added as a profile photo, then that can be cropped to create a thumbnail for use as the smaller pic in the site.

But, upload a photo to your profile. You will get this instead.

I think Avatars should not be stored in Profile Photos.  I don't use Facebook and I don't think it should be done like Facebook; avoid any imitation of Facebook.  I use a social site that stores Avatars in a separate location and one can have several just as on Dolphin.  Keep that concept as it is how it should be.

What we need is a bit more flexibility in Avatars.   For one, members want to use animated gifs as avatars and I have seen a tutorial on how to resize animated gifs.  I don't care for them but that is what the members want.  The other is to have larger avatars, at least the 64X64, on the profile page and dashboard etc.

If one can go to the index page and have a large avatar, then I guess I could rip the code out of that page and replace it for the code on the profile page and add the bit that puts the status over the background image.  That is how it is working, the avatar is added as a background image to the division.

If you could point me to the particular areas, templates files, etc. then I will attempt to hack the code knowing that any upgrades will break it.

Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

I moved to trying to upgrade the TinyMCE.  I am not sure I will want to use 7.1, I don't like all the changes they made and may wait for Dolphin.

However, yes, this is something I want to return to, was thinking about this today.  So I will let you know.
