FANTASTIC MOD!

I noticed that the FAQ shows up on the Navigation bar.  How do I get the default FAQ at the bottom of the page to redirect to your mod when clicked?

Quote · 15 Jul 2011

You will have to edit it in a database table. You can find it in sys_menu_bottom, open it with your phpmyadmin, go to tha table and edit the corresponding entry to point to our FAQ mod.

Thanks

After I installed the module, I noticed that the default "faq" on the bottom menu bar of my website was still going to the old faq section.

To correct this and change the default faq on the sub menu at the bottom of the Dolphin website:

Go to:

  • cPanel >> File Manager >>  public_html >>
  • I had to do a search at this point for "db_sys_menu_bottom" because I could not find the folders that contain the file.
  • Opened "db_sys_menu_bottom"

Change this code:

3 =>
  array (
    'menu_caption' => '_FAQ',
    'menu_link' => 'faq.php',
    'extended_action' => NULL,
    'target' => NULL,
  ),

So it looks like this:

3 =>
  array (
    'menu_caption' => '_FAQ',
    'menu_link' => 'm/faq/',
    'extended_action' => NULL,
    'target' => NULL,
  ),

I've that I was only editing a cache file of the sub menu.  They look something like this:

/public_html/cache/db_sys_menu_bottom_a25987234c8sd952a7b619b50e52.php

I did not realize this was a cache file until DosDog pointed it out to me.  However, I cannot find the permanent file where I should edit the FAQ link to redirect to the FAQ module.

Could someone please help me locate the correct file to edit?

What the original script looks like in that file that I should locate?

What the final version of that script should look like to redirect to the FAQ Zone module?

Does anyone else know the solution to this problem?

I have not heard back from back from Mods4Dolphin in the last 4 days, so if I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help out in the meanwhile.

Run the following script in your phpmyadmin then go to your dolphin Admin panel and clean cache.

UPDATE `sys_menu_bottom` SET `Link` = 'm/faq/home' WHERE `Link` ='faq.php';

Thank you Modzzz for the script.

Mods4Dolphin corrected the problem on my website with his mod.  I'm still not sure specifically how he did it, but I'm sure he could post a "How to" on here to help others out in the future.

I'm not able to see how a user is able to create a new FAQa.  I am actually not able to see how any user is able to create a FAQa from the website.  I can only see how the Admin in the Admin Panel can create a new FAQa.

Also, Google is having a hard time crawling the FAQ section with multiple errors while it attempts to crawl the calendar section.

I am not able to see a calendar section of the FAQ.

Yes, I'm on v7.1B1.  We appreciate your updating your modules.

I'm getting this specific error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method BxFaqTemplate::getBaseUri() in /home/server/public_html/inc/classes/BxDolTwigCalendar.php on line 49

Any ideas on how to address this would be great.  I don't know if it's correlation or causation, but I can see I can see the Google and Bing search engine impression stats decrease as these site errors are increasing.

 Uninstall the mod if you are on 7.1, we will try to release the updated version in 2-3 days.

Would you please update this module?

The crawling errors from Google are getting way out of hand.  At this point this module has literally created 150+ crawl error from the calendar portion of this FAQ due to the module creating links that do not exist.

My SEO has definitely been affected by these crawl errors and I've been waiting patiently for the "get back on this thread soon".

The FAQ zone for dolphin 7.1 the new version has a bug, this mod won't let you delete members in the admin after you install this mod? but after you uninstall it you can however delete members but then you will loose all your faqs just so you can delete a member?

The facebook and twitter combo for dolphin 7.1 new version of dolphin, the events importer link for facebook has an error in it when licked? the twitter mod seems like you dont have an option for the update twitter tweets it always says empty with no box to do twitter updates? and on all the other boxes of twitter, there is no comment box to add comments to twitter friends?

I need help please
