Categories and the Calendar

I go to “Categories” and select “Calendar”. I have two “Category” entries under “Calendar” for Friday 7th of August 2009. I attempt to click on these and nothing happens for “Blogs” or “Photos”. I just get the word “Empty”. See here:

I'm seeing the word 'Empty' everywhere.  I think this will all be fixed by Beta 47.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

Actually Houston, the scheduled has been altered since you posted that, it's now Beta 449(D)r2.9.4.66.83.1.a.94 that will have this change completed.

One of my past tickets included a page not found error when we clicked the items in calendar.. they said it was fixed.. now I see how..

Well to be exact, the empty box appears below the calendar. It is not just a page with only the word "Empty".

It opens box with result below the calendar, click on this block tabs to get some content.

PS: it seems that it will be better to not show tabs with empty content here.

But there is content. Just to make sure I was not going mad I have just added a new blog for today and selected a new category. It is listed correctly under today's date as "1 Category".

http://socialathens.com/categories.php?action=calendar

I click on the "1 Category" link: http://socialathens.com/categories.php?action=calendar&year=2009&month=08&day=10

The resulting box below the calendar gives a title of: Categories By Day: 2009-08-10

The content of the box reads "Empty".

I am probably misunderstanding something. So if I am not able to create content by creating a blog with a category, then how else am I able to create content?

I feel as though I am talking to myself here on the forums.

I spent the weekend testing out functionality on the new D7 beta 3, only to have most of my postings completely ignored and one give a cursory glance with a comment that did not, as far as I was concern, correctly answer my query and no reply was given to my repost. Can some one else verify that blogs and categories, upon initial installation please, simply does not work. I am quite happy to be shown where I am going wrong but I hate to be simply ignored.

Its not that you are ignored, but sometimes we don't no how to make this working. So plaese it will need some time.

Regarding

http://socialathens.com/categories.php?action=calendar

Just now I successfully joined to your site and create new blog, added new custom category inside ('custom_category')

After it - add new post inside this category:

Here you can see result:

http://socialathens.com/blogs/posts/Aramis

After it visit calendar of categories, choose current date:

http://socialathens.com/categories.php?action=calendar&year=2009&month=08&day=12

and I able to see my new custom category. So seems here all correct.

Quote · 12 Aug 2009

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to show me how you created the category.

I did not realise that you had to create custom categories for them to appear in the calendar. I thought that all you had to do was to select one of the default categories already provided e.g. baby blogs, food blogs, city blogs. Would it not seem sensible to do this or am I misunderstanding the purpose of the calendar and it is to only show the creation of custom categories?

Okay here goes. I am still having problems. This is exactly what I do. Sorry about the size of the following images. You may have to scroll down a bit for the second image. I am in a rush.

Step 1

I am not logged in as a user. I am a visitor to the website socialathens.com. I select categories -> calendar:

step1

Step 2

I select the "5 Categories" on August the 12th 2009 and it displays the "custom_category(1)":

step2

Step 3

I get the following screen after selecting custom_category(1) which is not what I was expecting:

step3

Step 4

I go to myphpadmin admin and verify that the blog is viewable by the public, which it is:

step4

Link to 'custom_category' is wrong. Only this. It should replace {profile_nick} to owner category nickname, but not do it.

We have Only this issue.
