Captcha image not working!

The captcha image on the join page doesn't display, I've tried all of the suggestions in this thread:

http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/Dolphin-7-Captcha-Security-Image.htm

But it still doesn't work. I'm on version 7.0.5

Please help!

crackers,

i read the post where the guy stated what worked for him.

issues with captcha generally come from three issues:

1. apache not compiled with TTF

2. apache not compiled with GD Library or ImageMagik

3. misconfigured server that would require the hack provided from the aforementioned post.

are you on a shared environment? if yes, ask your hosting service, if TTF is enabled, if GD Library is installed, if captcha works on the server in general?

not all issues are related to dolphin 'per se', yet these issues keep popping up in the forums. likened to me should you purchase a bicycle, and call the honda dealership and ask why your left front fork is shorter in stature than your left rear spoke, the two are just not aligned. captcha is not something invented or created by dolphin in and of itself, and captcha should work in most cases if the server is configured correctly.

OK it seems like its a bug. I did a fresh install and it worked fine. Then after I customised the join page slightly (just by removing a couple of fields) I have the same problem....

Which fields did your remove so someone here can see if they can reproduce the problem.

I removed "Couple" and "Looking For" and added "Favourise Music". Not sure at which point the problem started as I did it all in one go. I've returned it back to normal and it still doesn't work.

 Wow!

  1. He is no longer here.
  2. GD is used for processing images.
  3. Captcha does not use your server to process the images.
  4. Update your software, there are security risks.
