Just upgraded from 7-3-2 Trying to install new bones modules I get Installation of: Custom RSS Failed -- Check the Dolphin version for compatibility: The module is not compatible with your version of Dolphin script
Same with Facebook Connect and lots of modules
I am lost .. done lots of system upgrades before since 7.07 etc

i have only done an upgrade once, but not had an issue. From what you are explaining - if you look in the modules folder - lets say facebook connect - facebook_connect/install/config.php - you will see a line like: 'compatible_with' => array( - as an example. Change the version number to 7.3.3. Now - keep in mind that not all modules may be compatible with version 7.3.3 so you may run into another issue after installing. caredesign.net |
I just checked World Map and you are correct. But what is the point of the 'upgrade script' if it doesn't handle that? Are we supposed to change the settings to 7.3.3 ? The site is under development and we were customizing the difficult and 3rd party modules first. Now I don't see how I can proceed with the site and our work is lost. I can't see how we can start fresh without having to manually do the module customization again, unless we can export it to a fresh install. |
Not to be rude or anything - but are you sure you followed the upgrade instructions exactly? The modules should have upgraded - I believe. I have modules that I created for 7.2 and they worked fine with 7.3.3 - so all is not lost. I guess you could do a fresh install and upload/install your modified modules without any major issues - but I would recommend creating a dummy site as a fresh install and uploading/installing your modules there first and make sure everything works properly before attempting this with your main site. caredesign.net |
You are not rude at all, actually VERY HELPFUL !! I was thinking that the upgrade may not have copied / overwritten as I thought. I used ftp and I should have paid more attention on the uploads ... I love filezilla, which I used, but cuteFTP (mac) has a better interface for large file/directory overwrites. I manually edited the profile.php on a few modules and installed and I can configure them, so that is a workaround. Im not sure how I could extract the 3rd party module with all the mods I have made (about 100 + most language and menu items) and copy it to a fresh install. Any thoughts? Many thanks |
are all of the modifications made to the files themselves - or did you make changes in the database also? I have been using filezilla for a long time - ecery now and then it does not upload a file completely - so I went to Dreamweaver and have had no issues - but dreamweaver also costs a pretty penny though. caredesign.net |
Can you make a screenshot of modules on your site www.site.com/administration/modules.php "Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow." @ www.dexpertz.net |
