I would like to know if products that have not been updated in the market, but where the developer has chosen to release effectively a 'new' version (which is also effectively the same as the old version but 7.1...) and then charge existing customers a second time just to be able to use the product they have already invested into.... in this scenario can I get a refund!
The 7.1 upgrade was a silent 'forced' upgrade. This being that 7.0.x was no longer really supported, the many existing bugs were not fixed and will not be fixed.
So, anyone wanting to continue using existing sites HAS to upgrade to continue getting support for issues.
A number of modules developers have not updated modules, and a number of them developers have released a separate 7.1 version of the SAME them then asked existing customers to pay again. Ok, so it may be a 'special' discount rate, but its still the same them I already paid for.
If this was a physical product it would no longer do its functional purpose due to developer neglect.
There should be some accountability somewhere, either from Boonex or developers to either provide the upgraded product to existing customers for free, or to refund if they choose to no longer support the previous product.
Im talking about a lot of money here in my account alone that is now wasted...
Im sure there are plenty of others in the same boat.
Anyone else a bit pissed at this???
