Can we do this with Dolphin?

We were looking at Dolphin with a view to setting up fan sites for a number different ‘groups’. Ideally we would just have one installation, would set up a profile for each group and then let members join the site and become ‘fans’ of multiple groups.

My understanding of Dolphin is that to achieve this we would need to set up an installation of Dolphin for each group. This would achieve the same result although fans would have to join multiple sites and maintain multiple profiles to belong to multiple groups.

What we really need is Dolphin with another level so we could have one installation, many ‘groups', each with many members. Is there any way we could achieve this with Dolphin, even with some customization?

I'm open to ideas if you can suggest any other way to achieve this.

As for groups, this is a default feature that is coming with Dolphin...
