After some other problems who are solved, I came at this one:
After making a forum category and forums I wanted to write something in it.
If If click to add topic button nothing is happening??
Wen I try this from the admin panel, yes I can click add topic, but then the screen hangs on loading ..............
This is happening with the browser IE 7 and Opera 9.27
Dolphin version 6.1.1
Someone a idea how solve this???
thanks

I saw a similar scenario with 6.0 but then one day I logged in as admin and was able to do it and it worked from there out.
I am having another issue with 6.1. The orca buttons/etc have [[L in front of the labels (i.e. [[L Post Topic]]. I was able to manually edit some out of the xsl files but then noticed that compiling the language fixed most. Now my group forums have the issue issue and compiling is not helping. Have you or anyone else seen this issue?
|
so it works for firefox?
check phpinfo()
--with-dom=/usr/lib --with-dom-exslt=/usr/lib --with-dom-xslt=/usr/lib
I have video tutorials to help you mrpowless.com |
Have not tested with that browser.... But not only as admin but also as member the button add topic is doing nothing.
So what now? I'Am not a coder or something. For now no one can write into forums.
UPDATE:
Have testit with Firefox, and yes I could write, but on top and bottum of the write box I have a lot of text with layout code..

If it works in firefox there is no server side problems just check whether any javascript error sccurs in IE ---- |
It looks to me that the Tiny-editor is not loading at all. This into IE 7 ... no error messages on screen. Into Opera there is happening nothing if you click the add topic button. No errors coming up.

Reupload the file "templates/base/scripts/BxBaseConfig.php"
This may solve tinymce problem
---- |
I have done a complet fresh install from scratch so to say, but I have the same problem in Opera, forum buttons not responding. Then I take Firefox in safe mode working... now I can make forum category and forums, but above the form I get code the same under this form also code....
I have made a screenshot from it, you see it Here
I the error module from Firefox it gives this:
Error: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE) [nsIXSLTProcessor.transformToFragment]" nsresult: "0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE)" location: "JS frame :: http://www.gopoint.nl/orca/js/BxXslTransform.js :: anonymous :: line 121" data: no] Source File: http://www.gopoint.nl/orca/js/BxXslTransform.js Line: 121
So I hope that some gives a solution for this.
Thanks...

The link is not there.
There is error in XSLT transform. Reupload that javascript. That will be better than looking through the code.
---- |
Have repaired the link, sorry for that, now its working.
other solution not tested at this time.. Kids first |
Reuploading that file into Orca has no respons given... If you look to the screenschot in in my earlier post, thn you see the layout code (header + footer) up and under the forum.... very strange this is happend in Firefox.... Ie7 and Opera no problem with layout, only the buttons are not working....
Permalinks are off.. Kids first |
XSLTProcessor prob you should try new folder of plugins/tiny_mce and then check a phpinfo
in the config lines.its all ./config --with this-- -- with that--
located near the top
it must have:--with-dom=/usr/lib --with-dom-exslt=/usr/lib --with-dom-xslt=/usr/lib
if not then your host should get these lines to recompile php to read them...
tell them your xslt processor is not working right
I have video tutorials to help you mrpowless.com |
They have checkt everything, but all you mentiont in your post is there. I have uploaded a new submap with the editor and its the same ...... Nothing changed, problem is really Orca...
if I open the firefox error console I got this error by opening Orca in firefox:

The problem you have is the xml is not converted to to displayable form.
The problems may be in the following places.
XML generation
Or in XML processing.
Check that two places.

the fix or the [L[Forums]] is to navigate to admin, plugins, orca just to the right of manage forums, you will see a link "en" that is the language compiler. you need to compile the language file. click on the "en" and refresh the page, all should be beautiful.

oh you are referring to the header and footer source displaying on the pages? go to orca/ and look for an .htaccess tell us what it says in that .htaccess
also look in your root directory send me the first lines before it starts all that mod_rewrite stuff. i am looking for a handler, if its calling for php4 you need to get rid of that line. thats causing a conflict with php5 which i presume you are running php5 from your post of your phpinfo file.

Probably it's already way too late for your problems, but I had the same issues as killerhaai.
Some versions of ff and ie were hanging on the post reply screen. Loading the forums in firefox gave a lot of code in header and footer etc. As is mentioned by praveenkv1988 this is a server issue. Once the server is set correct, the site works as expected.
The problem for me was in the setup of the php software on the webserver.
I have enabled these extensions : php_gd2.dll , pjp_mbstring.dll , pjp_mysql.dll , php_mysqli.dll , php_xmlrpc.dll , php_xsl.dll and php_zip.dll
Probably not all of them are required, but the main ones that are will be gd2, mbstring, xmlrpc and xsl.
(Yes I'm running this on a IIS server, bad me :) )
So praveen and dosdawg, thanks for the hints, you solved my issues with the forum !

yeah after killer was unable to get his issue resolved in a matter of a few posts, it was basically my conclusion he needs to recompile and see what that gets him. he seems quite angry at the forum not working, man i would have given up and loaded phpbb or somethng by now. but i did fight this for 3 months, and mrpowless knows that. he would suggest stuff, and i would shoot it to support, dont know exactly which one fixed the problem, but i know it was one of these:
it must have:--with-dom=/usr/lib --with-dom-exslt=/usr/lib --with-dom-xslt=/usr/lib
if not then your host should get these lines to recompile php to read them...
tell them your xslt processor is not working right
great suggestions mrp.
killer i hope you get this resolved soon man, or move to another server or something. its your server man, not the script.

My problems are not solved!!!
My technical hoster has look some day's on it, have recompiled php several times.... and yes Its a dedicated server.
I host at my self different websites with other sort of cms scripts and have no problems....
It's so that I like Dolphin as script, it has so many possibilities, but Orca don't know what to think of it. There are some things like try remove Orca from the server..... you can't if you have no serverroot access to set the rights back.
But oke my problem with Orca stays at this time for the most browsers as IE - Opera - safari. Firefox I can write, only header/footer problem. Mr. Praveen wanted to look at it, but no idea when tis will be happen.

Hi there. I've asked my host to increase the buffer memory limit in php.ini, but the said it's not allowed in shared plans. I'm still having problems in Orca ("Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20341 bytes) in /home/w1275/public_html/minhascamisas/comunidade/orca/classes/en/BxXslTransform.php on line 79"). isn't there another way to solve it? Is there something I can disable in Orca so less available memory is required? Please help me, I have launched my community today but I had to turn it out as I realized thatthis error happened every time someone tried to access Orca... :-(

killerhaai,
bro, there have been upwards or 30 posts to you on this topic, the problem is clear to all of us who are knowledgeable of a linux server. you DO NOT HAVE APACHE COMPILED WITH XSLT MODULE. i dont know how much more clear this could be to you. yes we understand your knowledge of php and apache are limited, but you have been helped by some of the greater minds of this script. it has been requested that you produce your phpinfo(), that has not been done on this post. there is nothing more we can tell you about this, you need to have your apache compiled with certain modules so that orca can run. please follow through with what has been presented as the solution, otherwise, i suggest you just drop this and go with the phpbb3 integration, as this will never be resolved for you.
i do not mean to sound crass or harsh about this killerhaai, but the bottom line here is that you have been offered the solution to get this resolved, but you will not provide us with the information so that we can show you that your server does not have what it needs to run this script.

Can you share details on which file and what permission? Am experiencing the same issue and all the suggestions provided you on this post checked out ok on mine. i.e., I have XLST running (I'm on PHP 5.2.5 and phpinfo says "with-xsl"). The results are the same whether I'm on IE or Firefox. Essentially, I can get as far as clicking NEW TOPIC...the form loads but the LOADING POST TOPIC PAGE message just stays on...can't do anything more from there (except on Firefox, I can click CANCEL).
If others reading this have suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them (hint hint DosDawg and MrPowless) :-)

so it works for firefox?
check phpinfo()
--with-dom=/usr/lib --with-dom-exslt=/usr/lib --with-dom-xslt=/usr/lib
So, if I have this in my phpinfo:
--with-dom=shared,/usr' '--with-dom-xslt=/usr' '--with-dom-exslt=/usr' '
it would explain why Orca does not work properly?

Great...I am having the exacte same problem and we do not have a solid answer on what file to fix. |
Thought I'd share my experiences in my attempt to resolve this. Finally got it working (in a way where I can now post w/o hanging) although I still have a minor problem. I'll share more on that problem below. First, here's what I've done to date:
Like most things, I though perhaps reinstalling just Orca would solve it. Unfortunately, there isn't a facility within the Dolphin/Orca/Ray integrated package that allows you to do incremental installs. So, I downloaded just Orca and installed. It installed successfully and functions perfectly. Except, now, even if it uses the same database, it thinks it's a completely independent (of Dolphin) application. So, even if Dolphin connects to it, it has it's own look and doesn't recognize the user already logged in on Dolphin. So, you have to login again into Orca (using the same accounts as those on Dolphin)
On a side note, I had separate problem which was solved by this reinstall. On admin's page builder, I wasn't able to edit and save HTML blocks. The orca reinstall included a TINY_MCE install as well which did the trick.
Anyhow, I finally got connected with AndreyP (see my dialog w/ him at http://www.boonex.com/unity/answers/entry/How_to_integrate_independently_installed_Orca_onto_Dolphin_install) who suggested (at a later email exchange) that I just copy the entire orca folder from another install which is known to be working. Lucky for me, I have another Dolphin install I copied from. That fixed the problem. i.e., it reintegrated Orca w/ Dolphin.
The remaining problem occurs when I edit any of my forum posts. While the it saves it successfully, I get the "You do not have permissions" error message. From the surface, the problem appears to be related to the redirect that occurs after the changes are saved. It seems something in the code is not translating the .htaccess rewrites correctly since it's redirecting to a '.htm' name as oppose to '{forum topic name}.htm'.
Andrey suggested I talk to the developer of Orca but I have yet to connect.
Anybody got any suggestions?

likewise, I am having the same problem with my forum.
Praveeen and Dosdawg, thanks for the suggestions. I confess I am also a newbie with php etc, but just to clarify before I contact my host what exactly should I be asking them? I was going to email asking to look XSLT processor is working correctly?
For the record, the forum is at http://network.nubtub.com/orca/ and I have 0 problems with firefox. I really love the software, I only found out about it when some mates emailed me saying IE freezes, and when I try at work with IE it does the same for me.
cheers guys and fantastic work, this software and community rocks!

Look if you see this into your phpinfo.php almost under:
If you don't see this, then your XSLT is not proporty installed, ask your hoster to do that. Kids first |

Thank you. I don't have the xsl info. I do have a xslt, but no xsl. What does this mean and where do I get that? Thanks again.

ask you provider to install XSLT for you.

No. I have XSLT. I do not have XSL. As Boonex recomends Hostforweb(HFW), aren't they set up to run Dolphin? Is there a way to get HFW to talk to Boonex? There seems to be several problems that seem to be coming from a lack of communication. I am not complaining. I am trying to figure out a way to resolve these problems for all. Thanks for your help. |
I tried their 'recommended' hosting (HFW) and when told to contact the author we can't help on a very simple Dolphin problem told I them rotsAruck and promptly went elsewhere.
FWIW, it seems their support is about the same as boonex ..... (IMHO) non-existant ..... .
|
You crack me up. That being the case, where can I get xsl myself and where should I load it too? Or is that out of my league? Thanks again. |
Well since HFW is the 'recommended' provider wouldn't you expect them to provide it?
Hit their live support and raise cane! . |
That's what I decided to do. No response yet. Gave them several issues, as the forum responses point to them. Thanks |
