I don't think Dolphin supports MIDI files.

Go to admin then to modules then to sound.

Click on the settings tab.

There you will see Allowed extensions.

Add mid there.

But i am also not entirely certain that dolphins sound player will play MIDI's

If mid is a kind of code, it would not be necessary for a plugin interprets it?

MIDI isn't like MP3.  It requires extra software and SoundFonts (basically the instruments) in order to interpret the "instructions" in the file and playback the neccessary instruments (and other more complex things).  I don't think FFmpeg even supports the format, so without some serious modifications, don't expect to be able to upload it.

You could however, create a group for midi files and allow people to upload them to the group.  You can't play them with the player, but your members could download them and play them locally.

Or create a category with the files module.

Just a thought.

Thank you guys, you can not really play mid sounds. Anyway We do: pull as file and the student has to download to your machine to run. Thanks for the information.
