Can't join anymore after upgrade to 7.3.3

After upgrade to version 7.3.3 members can't join anymore.

There's always a message that the form contains errors. I checked all fields in the admin panel -> profile fields, but nothing seems to be wrong.

The join process is also in 3 steps now and I have to enter the captcha code 2 times on 2 different pages.

I asked TMD to eanble fileinfo extension, but still no success

What could be the problem?

I moved all the profile fields to 1 column, included the profile photo field and now it works.

So something has been changed in the join procedure since earlier versions.

Is the profile picture mandatory now ???

Also the system adds the date of joining after the user name, which is not how it used to be before. A confirmation email is not being sent.

Is no one else encountering these problems ?

What version did you upgrade from?  I have upgraded sites from 7.1.6 to 7.3.3 without any issues with join working.

7.1.6 to 7.3.3

had the same trouble- but put self blame as i may have missed a step since i did MANY upgrades in one day and may have missed a step in the instructions.

was going to sanitize the database and reload from scratch.

you said "I moved all the profile fields to 1 column, "

was the Profiles table corrupt or mismatched the current version?  did the installed modules have an impact?

Don't know what's wrong. Can't even logout anymore.

When I put all profile fields in 1 column, it works.

But now I'm trying to figure out how to logout ...

annabel:

thanks for the tip on putting "profile fields in 1 column"...

i thought you meant you were placing all fields in the database "Profile" table into a single column which didn't make sense to me.

To clarify for others-  the join popup  needs to be built of of one column.  This is done in the administration settings page under "Builders > Pages Builder > Join Page > GO button"..  Stack the page element blocks so that they form a single column.  Too many and they will be difficult to scroll thru on a mobile device.

As to difficulty  logging out, are you sure that you are logged in?

David, I stacked the fields through admin panel -> builders -> profile fields

For the logging out problem -> it seems to be solved because after clearing all caches I could log out again.

I upgraded a site and the join and login did not want to work properly.  The client had added an entry to the service menu.  With 7.3.3 you can decide which shows first, login or join, by the order in the menu.  Join and login has to be at the beginning of the menu structure.  Check and see if this is the case for you.

Nice to know that every time we fix one issue, another gets broken.

Cool

nothing is actually broken- just many choices on the join form that get confusing.

if i ever have any spare time i might do a vid to explain as it is a bit confusing.  also, there are a few combinations that might not work for you...

here is what makes a simple, self explanatory, workflow for getting your join forms working:

login to the site http://demo.boonex.com  ---- the admin password can be found at the left side-

goto admin panel -> builders -> profile fields

study exactly how the blocks are stacked there. that is a working configuration.  replicate that on your site and everything works.  SIMPLE.  if you want to make changes, make ONE change at a time and test. If it does not work, backup and regroup and try an different arrangement of blocks until you are satisfied and have a working configuration.

The links at the far right  of the "Profile Fields" page configure your join forms:

Join Form   Edit Profile   View Profile   Search Profile

The Blocks such as "Misc Info" also have a "Join Page" Dropdown to configure which page that block displays on.  MANY variables to experiment with and customize your joining process.  Very configurable, but can be a bit daunting at first.  Photos are attached with arrows showing where the choices are.

I re-installed the script (7.3.3) and using the default settings in the fields builder, joining doesn't work.

There must be some problem with the fields builder in the join form.

No one else seems to have this problem, since I see no forum post for this.

What's the use of a site when nobody can join?

If there are any problems in the fields builder or join form then it is local to you since many people have 7.3.3 sites that works and people can join.  There are many that have updated sites to 7.3.3 that works and people can join.

What logic have you used to try and track down the issue?

I fill out all fields, click on 'join' and nothing happens ... just saying 'loading' ... forever

Check your javascript console for any errors.

Indeed GG, during migration to another server, fileinfo extension wasn't enabled.

Problem solved now.

Thanks for your concern and tips.
