Can't install

I'm trying to install Dolphin on my webhost but every time I set my permissions to 777, it reverts to 775.  I talked to my host and it said it's due to security reasons, but that it shouldn't have to be set to 777 to begin with, that the scripts don't execute at the public level.  Is there any way around this problem?

But as minimum - ffmpeg need execute, how you will execute without 777?

775 mean that World(Script) can`t write into directories,

how you will recreate (caching) files into directories without correct permission? :)

Ask your host about it

And... If that host have su_php installed maybe, then it wouldn't need 777 permissions on any directory for script to be able to write in it.

777 permissions leave directory wide open for all kind of exploits, phishing site and scripts...

My host has suphp.exe. I was able to set chmod permissions of 777. My host said it would not matter either way. Anyway, my web site (www.asia-connect-th.com) has been running for 6 months with no permissions problems.

Just go ahead and install.

All the best,

Stuart
