Can Dolphin do this?

Hi there,

I have been asked by my club to help build a new club membership website. Can Dolphin do the following?

  • Multi-level members (e.g. guest, member, committee)
  • Member profiles
    • Edit own profile
    • Search other member profiles
  • Allow any member to send a broadcast email to all other members, or a subset of members which is the result of a profile search
  • Members can register and pay for events
    • Requires payment portal of some kind
    • Different event price for different member level
    • See who else has already booked for an event
  • Library of documents in categories with access dependent on member level
  • Highlight new members, new library papers on member home page
  • Administration
    • Add or edit or remove members
    • Manage events calendar
    • Pull reports on event attendance and payments
    • Backup data to local files
    • Manage Special Interest Groups within the membership

Then I would need to find someone to install and congfigure Dolphin to get it working and import data :-)

Cheers, Paul

  1. You can add multiple membership levels with their own permissions.
  2. You can edit your own profile, as well as search for other profiles.
  3. This feature isn't in the script, but there may be a market post for this.
  4. You can have events require a paid membership level to allow posting rights, but there's nothing on a per-event basis.  You can also view the list of participants for events.
  5. The articles module should be able to pull this off.  Keep in mind that you can't set permissions for individual articles.
  6. Those blocks are added by default when the module is installed (or when the script is installed, in the case of the members block).
  7. You can't add new members from the administration panel.  You'll need to logout and use the join form (there may be an extension in the market for this).  You can do everything else, except the Special Interest Group thing, because I have no idea what you mean by this, and pulling reports directly from modules (you'll need to view this information from within the module post).
  8. You'll find a bunch of people willing to do installations and configurations.
