Most decent home cam systems come with a built in server - all you need is a static IP or register with dyndns and you can access it directly. You can also do this with a webcam and software too - http://www.webcamxp.com/home.aspx works pretty good for those of you stuck with windoze. If you're on Linux you can use the excellent zone minder - http://www.zoneminder.com/ I have a dedicated box running zonemider with 4 cams - it offers full DVR capabilities, motion detection and alarm handling (you can even email images of your burglar running off with your TV to your PDA / Cell phone). If you want to add either to your home page simply create a PHP block that echo's info from a URL that is stored as a profile field.
