Buy now button in ads?

Hi all,

          can anyone direct me to a demo or site where the buy now button is used in the ads module?

I've looked at the Boonex demo sites and it isn't there and I'd like to see and understand how it works before adding it.

It doesn't do much except allow you to send a message to the Seller.

It's a shame because a buy now button for the ads module similar to ebay would be a great feature.

Rather than the using buy now button available as it is I'll just change the language to "contact seller"

The difference between eBay and Dolphin is that one is a Buy/Sell web site and the other is for social networking. When you create a site that does "everything", most things will be very basic. 

The Boonex Ads module is just that - Basic! It does a nice job allowing people to advertise, but it only allows  buyers and sellers to communicate with each other and come to an arrangement. In all fairness, Boonex also has a store module which when set up properly, allows the site owner to sell digital goods.

I like the Ads module, but it doesn't allow you to separate members from commercial Advertisers. Modzzz's module does. 

I used a text block at the top of the Ads home page to warn members the ads were just that - advertising and that no provision was offered for people to collect money. As such, I changed the button to read contact seller via the languages module.

We've based a whole site around the ads module JohnK42 and it's working really well, everything else has been pared to the bone.

I just think it would be a great move to get a buy now option on ads, it would certainly be a plus over fb and let's face it we're all here to stick a thumb in the eye of fb ;)

As mentioned earler i was toying with the idea of changing the "buy now" to "contact seller" in the language settings but as all the contact information is already contained within the members ads it would serve no purpose.

We've tried to incorporate all the good things found on social media and other sites and tried to adapt them to work within our own.

Dolphin is an excellent platform to work from, yes it has its shortfalls but no platform can be all things to everyone.

If the developers took some time to study the shortfalls of FB and other social media and concentrated their efforts on developing those who knows what could come from it. Our only limitations are our own imaginations.

Even Modzzz Classifieds only allows the site owner to charge for advertising on a week/month basis. Then the store only allows Admin to sell digital stuff if I recall. I'm thinking out loud, but provided you didn't want a commission on sales, someone could develop a module where sellers would point buyers in the direction of their Paypal account. Somehow I think there would be a lot of work involved tydying up the loose ends, but who knows?
