Hi. I was looking at your Business Listing Module and have a question:
There are many businesses who do not have a city/state/country because their business is online only through just a website. How are these online-only businesses handled in this module?
Thanks!

I don't know how some of you guys find your way home. Do you think it might help if you stated who your question was directed at?

Nice first impression, Houston. Boonex...is this a sample of your help forum? If so, give me my money back.
Follow this and see if you can see the ambiguity that led to this:
1. On the mod's page at http://www.boonex.com/unity/extensions/entry/Premium_Business_Listings there is a link called "Forum" that I clicked.
2. It took me to this page: http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/Premium-Business-Listings-Mod-Support-Modzzz-.htm which clearly states "Premium Business Listings Mod Support (Modzzz)". Looking at this it looks like this is this mod's very own support page for this mod.
3. To the right of that text, is a menu system "New Topic, Post Reply, etc. I clicked "New Topic". The natural assumption being it would create a new topic on this specific mod's page. As it should be. If it's a new topic to the forum-at-large, then it's very ambiguous. I noticed that "Post reply" might keep my post on that mod's page? But doesn't "post reply" usually indicate one is replying to a specific post/comment (as it does on 99.9% of every forum in existence?
I"m certainly not above making mistakes, but the ambiguity here is obvious.

'Thanks', 'yes', 'and', 'Good luck with that one'.
With those questions answered, I can see how a link on the products page called 'Forum', would lead you to believe that the product had it's own forum. We don't call that 'ambiguity' around here.... we call it "Just plain stupid". Perhaps someone of importance around here will change the name of that link to something more appropriate, like 'Here is the support thread in the market forum'

i would tend to believe that all 'businesses' if in fact they are a business, would have a city state and country. just because an entity is online, does not resolve them from compliance of reality. in order to be a business, you have to have a business license in most countries, and a TAX ID as well. so i would tend to think that the relevancy of requiring a city state and/or country would be logical?
just my opinion.

Yes but then the module is for listing any business, not just actual companies.
Many people who would list in these mods, who may have an online 'business' may not be registered but may want to be listed.
I have the modzzz module you are talking about, I would think you could add to the language file for the module and add an 'online' category in the country - state - city fields.
That would be one way round your point.

I see your point, dawg, and I apologize for not explaining better.
Not all businesses are needed locally. For those that are (like a lawn care company, for example), then the dig-down search to a state/city/category/subcategory is needed. No problem there. But let's say I own a hosting company :) ... I would be national or global, but if I'm based out of Chigago, then I'm losing tons of customers who can't find me because they're forced to pick a city.
The ability to add a national or global site to every single city would be an amazing feature.
@daihlo: Thanks.

I understand the point being made. I will adjust the mod to accommodate online businesses. Paypal email is jeromemingo@gmail.com - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/modzzz |
