Builder - How?

I have just installed Dolphin and in the process of trying to figure out how to add pages and links, to no avail. I have searched everywhere I can for info with no luck.

I just need some simple information on how to do this.

Fore example, if I want to add a new menu item with submenus at the top along side where you have your home, blogs, etc. menus, how would I do this.

I have gone into the admin panel and clicked on Builders, but whenever I try to do anything there seems to be nowhere to save it, or new items are greyed out and can't be clicked.

Any Dolphin for Dummies help would be appreciated.

When you go to the Builder Pages:

You must drag a unactive block into the active area. By just droppinng it in active saves it. Then modify by clicking on it.

That's how it all works :)

Some of the More Popular Dolphin Tutorials Listing

Tutorials are also available in the forum. Be sure to use the search link. Add your key word and hit the search button.

The Unofficial Dolphin Manual (There are two versions):

FREE VERSION - Free View Blog version of the Dolphin Manual - Admin

You can get a listing of the Free Dolphin
Manual pages at:

Printed Book Version - Available for sale in book form The UnOfficial Dolphin Manual - Admin

The printed book version has a few more tutorials, screen captures and edits and is a more refined version than the free online version. It is also in book form. I know some people prefer a book over reading it on the screen. It is in draft version and is priced accordingly at this time.

When I do that it just goes right back to the inactive block and I'm back to square one.

You have to 'wiggle' it in. You will see a dotted box outline created when its taking it.

Wiggling is manadatory on New Pages especially including the first block. While in the HomePage you can usually activate by dropping it inbetween 2 existing blocks.

Wiggle it,just a little bit :)

Guess I'll have to try and sift through some of the links posted, although many of them I have looked at and are pretty much lame on any good help.

I have managed to 'wiggle' and get a block in, but not where I want it. There seems to be nowhere to do this on the Navigation Menu Builder, and if I try to add a PHP block, nothing happens (I have installed the fix from the forums).

Thanks

If you ask me, the whole current Builder setup is a bit too wiggly for its own good. Here's a cómposite screenshot of the menu builder in its entire beauty. It's exactly 2835 pixels wide. Now that's a mouthful of interface to wiggle with. The new admin panel is pretty abysmal as a whole in fact, it looks not much more than a retouched old admin panel, the deck shuffled a bit for a new effect.

There's got to be a smarter way to wiccle things around. Boonex might consider returning to the drawing board with this, and actually redo the admin interface, and maybe group things a bit smoother and smarter by theme and function. The software should Wiccle on your behalf, that's what a good interface does.

In the NAV Menu you have to start fairly right and then slowly move it down to were you want it in the row. I would recommend building it to the right, include your submenus and then move it left all together. That's what I do. Works fine just a little sensitive :)

And remember us Geeks view the screen as facing you. So right is your left to us and left is our right :) We're Geeky like that :)

Well, I'm still lost. Read a ton of stuff but to no avail. I have no idea how to add pages. I can see where you can add stuff to existing menu's, but how do I create a new one. I have added two PHP pages, but have no idea how to see them or access them (or delete one) - there just seems to be nowhere to do this. I want to add a menu link to the top where the rest of them are, but all I can do is edit existing ones, and most of them give me an error saying they are not editable. Not a very user friendly system.

Thanks
