Tested many timeson your demozzz site. When you go to a profile and click on video chat to chat with that person, the other person does not recieve the message to enter video chat.
When you quick im the other person they receive the im, when you click on video chat within the im field, the other person does not receive the message to enter video chat. The only way to enter 2 way video chat is if the other person clicks on video chat.
This needs to be fixed and I have posted this issue since beta 5!!!!
Make it where the other person will receive the message to enter video chat. Yes the function is there, I saw it once after waiting 20 minutes of sending an invite.

Wow listing this as works for me is bs. We tested this out on your own demo site as well as ours and the chat invites do not work. i'm glad we have this great chat ffeature, only members will have to email eachother so they know to accept a video chat.... |
I'd like to check that too, but nobody is connected at demmozzz.com :-( Life is a fatal disease, sexually transmissible - Virginity is carcinogenic! Ask here for vaccine. |
Ok, I just tested this on my own site. It seems that if you invite someone to a video chat simply by clicking "Video Chat" under the actions menu of the person's profile OR if you click "Switch to video chat" inside the simple messenger, the other member is NOT notified.
What you have to do is actually type something inside the chat box in order for it to send the notification to the other party involved so they can accept your video chat invite. Just clicking the button and waiting is not going to do anything.
Hope this resolves your issue.

Okay I think I know what the issue is.
When you send any video chat at all it will open the video chat window in the sender's browser. The sender has to type something inside the new video chat window and then the program sends the invite to the receiver and displays whatever was frist typed. This needs to be changed as that is not intutive. When people hit invite to chat they are not informed at all they need to actually type something before the invite is sent. It shoudl be autmoatically snet to the receiver without the sender having to type a message.

I agree that the ticket should be re-opened. This is a problem, because if people are sitting on the "simple im" and talking, thinking "just press this button to invite" but the person never gets it... |
Bumping this till it is fixed. You cannot have an invite service that only works if the inviter types something (oh and don't mind the fact that there is no instruction that they have to type for it to work, common sense no?)
Fix this to where the dang invite is sent when the other person pressed it. That is what an invite is, not how you have it currently programed.
Would you expect to have to type an intro message when inviting someone to chat on any other message platform?? no you would expect the other person to receive "X would like to invite you to chat". Lets make this user friendly with a bit of common sense.

Mauricecano, I completely agree with you and I believe it DID work that way in Beta 7. Not sure what may have happened. I was just pointing out "how" to make it send the invite so that maybe it will help determine "what" need to be done to fix it.

Zarcon I didn't see your post when i made another one, I don't think I scrolled down far enough on my lap top. Thank you for the input, I wish I would have read it before posting again.
Anyways, Boonex this is a core issue and not some "enhancement" make chat notification instant upon pressing it.

Now that the RC is out can we please get this reopened so it will function correctly and logically? |
