Boonex Upgrade

I purchased Dolphin 7.0.6 a few years ago and was wondering if I have to pay again to upgraded to the latest version.  If not exactly where do i go to get the upgrade files?

No cost to upgrade, unless you want somebody to do it for you. You'll need to apply each incremental update, so from 7.0.7, to 7.0.8, to 7.0.9, and so on. I strongly recommend you make a backup before starting.

Excellent and thanks.  One more question.  Will all my old modules work?  I bought several and would hate to lose them.

Deoends in the module. Dolphin 7.1 will likely break some, and the template system changes mean that any custom templates you currently have applied will be broken. Check with the vendor for each module before starting, so you have an idea of what to expect.

Well that doesn't sound too good.  I purchased a Facebook Template and I believe the vendor was beckmedia.  I did a search for them and can't locate them.  I guess I won't be able to upgrade :(

I recommend you do upgrade, as there have been plenty of features added and security fixes since 7.0.6. Generally you shouldn't expect much support for such an old version. There should be similar templates available in the market, including responsive ones.

There may be a another facebook template you can add to your site.

Another course of action instead of upgrading is migration; there are some migration services offered in the market.

The upgrade path for you is:

You would not apply the beta upgrades; that is a confusing part that I think messes up a lot of people; that should be noted in the upgrade instructions.  You have to apply each upgrade so it will take some time.  If you have made custom modifications to core files, then those modifications will be lost, or you have to apply the modifications to the upgrade files before the upgrade.  As was pointed out, backup your current files and database before doing any upgrades.
