hi every one. I was thinking Boonex should have separate forum for each basic module. It would be lot easier to find solution and lot easier to contribute to something. Right now it is a nightmare to find solution to some thing. If there is a problem with a module all of us can contribute to find solution for it and when we find solution we can close that topic as solved. Don't you think it is a nice idea ? Umar Haroon |

I am not sure about a forum for each module. However, a section that lists common problems and fixes, maybe a FAQ or something, might help with support.

ya i mean the same thing :) i used the word forum cause when you post a new topic it says .."Select Forum" ;) More over this way it can improve dolphin project and you will see new version of dolphin sooner than on yearly basis. Cause internet world is soo rapidly changing that by the time new version is released its already old :/ i think third party modules which are good can also be merged within dolhpin. So when ever dolphin version is updated it will not effect the user's website. Umar Haroon |
Boonex should have separate forum for each basic module
The most modules have forum support threads supported by the module vendor where you can ask questions. Not every vendor has a possibility/wish to support modules via forum, so automatic thread creation will not work in this way.

how about having a forum for dolphin features...so that if we have any problem with that feature..we can directly ask in that forum.. |

The whole forum is about Dolphin features. If you have a problem, you can ask for help on the forums.

This would be a great addition. If I understand correctly, we are just referring to the modules thst come shipped with dolphin. It would allow for more refined searching and results. If I am looking for something regarding the groups module, I could go to the Groups forum. And in turn, if I had a tip about the Groups module, I would post it in the Groups forum. caredesign.net |

Wrong Forum..... However:
There is no need to have 30 separate forums for Dolphin modules... Especially with only a few dozen new posts each day on this site.
To improve search results, I suggested adding something about three years ago:
Thread Prefixes... Optional of course
Thread prefixes are selected from a drop down list, and added to the beginning of the thread title when the post is submitted. The thread prefix selector can then be used in an advanced search.

Each module does have it's own forum area really when developers add support fourm etc
edit: maybe it would be good idea to have ALL support forums nested in one area ?!

the OP was in reference to just the default modules that come with boonex. Other modules do have some sense of a forum presence already, but not the default ones. It would help streamline where problems are exactly when someone is looking for help regarding a default module. Cause searching for things now is ridiculous. Not everyone uses the same search terms, so it can be hard to find the answers you are looking for. But having those threads for the default modules would definitely help. Until you get those who do not pay attention to the thread they are posting in. caredesign.net |
RE:

Which is at least half the time. That's a good argument for using thread prefixes, where it has to be a deliberate action to add one to the thread title.
