if you go into the admin settings - you can set your map to show what area you want your users to see and the zoom level. Then click Set current location

I can't find that option?

It's for this page: .../modules/?r=map_profiles/

On all the other pages ( we don't use the maps )

if you login to the admin sectioin - yourdomain.com/administration - under the modules on the left - go to World MAp. There you set your default location which includes the zoom level. If you dont use maps on any pages but the profile, then try changing the one that says Separate Page Map Settings. heck - you could do both to be on the safe side.
