Dear BoonEx Support Team,
I honestly think there should be a simple way for module buyers to rate (and if necessary revise their rating for) how well module programmers support their work. Yes, there is a place to review the module's functionality and that's important to see but that's also only one aspect of a module's long-term value.
During the last several months learning how to develop advanced Dolphin sites and purchasing 80+ modules from 15+ vendors, I have come to realize that while many vendors are very good at supporting and improving their modules, there are some that just don't seem to care once their modules have been purchased.
I seriously wish I'd never purchased anything from one module vendor (expect a formal dispute). He doesn't respond to messages for several days and then, after stating he will help, he does absolutely nothing... I know because I kept an eye on my log files for several days. In the meantime part of my site's development is 'on hold' and I'm beginning to wonder if I'd be better off uninstalling his module and formally request a full refund.
I don't think we'd be active at BoonEx if we didn't (at least initially) think that Dolphin has a lot of potential... but 'lazy' module developers are seriously lowering my opinion. If I knew in advance which module vendors had a history of not supporting their work to a reasonable degree I'd have avoided them... because resorting to praying that their module will work correctly, as advertised, has not been a viable solution.
Best Regards
