They are hitting my dev site (which is blocked to all IP's but mine via .htaccess) every minute.

They've been doing this for the last 2 weeks at least.

The join form has been moved via HL's tip.

And making a 2 part join form.

They are not joining, nor are they able to post in the blogs and profile (which they are also hitting).

I am hoping anyone else that is having issues is able to use this information.

There is a constant china flag on my globe,, and funny no one joins when I see it setting there. I always just like to think it is the Chinese mafia working to take over the world, and the internet... by selling ugg boots and beats by dre of course.

There's nothing you'll ever be able to do to keep them from trying to access your server.   Since the day of moving my join form, I got a little more drastic.  After all my sites disappeared into the Terabyte black hole, I moved to my own server.  I've installed Maxmind's GeoIP and their Apache mod_geoip.  Every country but the US is denied access to the entire site.  I also use Maxmind's proxy detection service to deny access to join.php via US based anonymous proxy servers.

Believe it or not, there were still some US based spammers creating accounts that resembled those created by Chinese spammers.  I can only conclude, that people in the US are working to create accounts for use by offshore spammers.  It's probably one of those "work at home business opportunities".  The problem isn't very severe, but it does exist.  After I added a field that requires people to unscramble a word and enter it into a field, that stopped the remaining few spammers.

 RE

I haven't, and don't expect anyone else will either.  It was all a blessing in disguise for me, having some sites disappear into a black hole.  It's probably where they belonged.  It actually helped me visualize a site that will offer things of real value to members.  It sure is going to cost though.

Yeah, there's a couple in Texas and some in Colorado that are constantly sending join requests then follow it up with a post to profile.php

They are getting 403 errors...  Ha Ha

I am sure you have way more important things to do than to attempt to create accounts on my dev site to pedal fake Gucci bags.  Ha Ha
