still no answer?

204 days and no answer.  Is this a banner inserted with the banner tool in Admin?  If so, then something is not right but we would have to see the site to find out what is happening.  My guess is CSS related.

 yes it is created in the administration

The banners are working exactly the way they are suppose to.

If your asking for a way to make them fit, then that's impossible.

The site defaults to 1140px in width for the pages. Which means for the banner to be shown without covering the site then the screen resolution must be larger than 1140px plus the width of the banner times 2. It's basic math to explain why the banners do not fit.

Best you can do is change the z-index of the banner so it's under the page when there is no room to display it. The z-index can be changed in inc/banners.inc.php at about line 57 look for this.

<div style="position:absolute; {$sPosition}{$hshift}px; top:{$vshift}px; z-index:60">

Either remove the z-index:60 that's there or change the 60 to 1

That's all your going to be able to do.

Maybe you are not placing the banner where you think you are.  Check the checkboxes in the Banner thing to see where you are telling it to be placed.

Not likely. Based on the screenshots the banner is being placed on the right side.

The issue is the banners are floating divs that sit on top. So if the screen resolution is not enough to allow margins on both sides of the page than side banners will not fit.

Dolphin 7.1 uses a page size of 1140px as default. Dolphin 7.0 used 980 as default i think. Maybe 960. Can't remember.

Anyhow. unless you have at least a 19" monitor and have the browser expanded full size then the banners will not fit.

I do not use dolphins banner system for this reason. Floating divs will just not work in most cases. Not everyone has 22" or larger monitors. It's best not to use it and just place your ads inside page blocks.

I don't use banners in my site but I did check out the banners for someone that wanted to make sure they would rotate on page loads.  So I grabbed a couple of graphics off the net that ended up being rather large and wide.  I placed it at the top and bottom and the graphic was placed in the correct portion of the page,  The left side was flush with the page wrapper while the right side extended way off the page.  However, they were still positioned correctly and did not break anything else on the page.

On my site, and this may be due to my template, they were positioned below the header and nav menu and on the footer above the bottom menu if I recall correctly.

They did not appear to be floating on my site. They appeared to be fixed to the page and scrolled with the page.  Maybe i am just confused myself.
