BIG Problem with hosting for Dolphin

Is there real hosting that accept Dolphin sites. I purchase a hosting in HostGator but after some question i get that

"Some parts of Dolphin work, but not all.

We don't allow file sharing sites.

So if you get caught you would be suspended probably.

Well you can use Dolphin's filemanager. But not the video chat."

How about that ????

I need help with this.

Regards.

I have a hosting account that has dolphin as a site setup meaning all you have to do is click install and you are up and running. Also has RMS services. Cost right now is $60/year for hosting and $36/year rms let me know if you are interested

there is a list of hosting providers that have been proven to be able to host the software. unfortunately hostgator is one of them or used to be. http://boonex.com/hosting

now as for the auto-installer, anybody and everybody knows that that thing is nothing but trouble. it forces you to create an install in a subdirectory, then there are issues with the username field in the dbase, amongst other issues, i would stay as far away from that auto-installer as i could.

I would like to thank you for bashing the auto installer. If one knows how to setup a server then the auto installer works just fine. I run all my dolphin sites with it and none of them have any problems. Besides i am not selling any services as you are trying to do i am just trying to help people out. Again thanks

you are very welcome. however, i would like to let you know i was one of the first to test and provide feedback on the auto installer, and it is absolutely documented that it does cause problems. and it has nothing to do with server setup hello, as you are given a link to call the auto installer and there is nothing for you to setup. We host over 500 dolphin sites, using TLD's addon domains, subdomains, and there are no problems with those installs. So i think you are slightly mistaken to insinuate i was "bashing" the auto installer. if you have had good luck with it, then so be it, but i am telling there are many problems with it. and obviously you are discombobulated, as i would interpret this:

'Cost right now is $60/year for hosting and $36/year rms let me know if you are interested' as selling a service.

certainly glad you are here to help and please do return when you have facts to share.
