BETA 8 : Profile Fields Builder Problem

Hello,

I've just installed Beta 8 on my site with another member of Boonex, and we have both tested that the Profile Fields Builder and it doesn't work, it just says loading but doesn't load the blocks...fields ect.

We have tried this in a few browsers ranging from Firefox 3.5.1 to I.E 8 and Safari...but still no luck. We have tried using the old fields.php, field_parse.php but still no fields and reverted back to the current one.

Any idea guys? - Also tried disabling the cache, but still nothing.

Thanking you in advance.

Kind Regards,

Jordaché

I also have the same problem. The query displays below, I'm guessing it is supposed to... and there are no error messages. Says "loading..." on both the Page Builder and Fields Builder. Active, Inactive, and Samples display the "loading..." message. I can not change or move the page width sliders, and on the fields builder page, no blocks load. just displays the "member, admin, visitor, etc." check boxes, but nothing below.

haven't figured it out yet. unfortunately, this glitch makes the entire dolphin beta 8 completely useless to me as I can't build or customize any pages at all..

I figured out where the problem is coming from. When you install the profiler module, after a successful install it says:

To complete installation add the following lines to the beginning of inc/header.inc.php file:

define ('BX_PROFILER', true);

if (BX_PROFILER && !isset($GLOBALS['bx_profiler_start']))

    $GLOBALS['bx_profiler_start'] = microtime ();

Adding this line of code causes the fields builder and page blocks builder NOT to load. I tried adding the code to different areas of the file (line 20, line 65, etc.) and it causes the problem no matter where I place it. I left this out and everything seems to work fine now.

Not sure if this will cause an error somewhere else later, but at least my fields/page builder loads now...

Can not reproduce this bug, even with enabled profiler module. Every time page builder is loaded and works fine.

ahhh - that profiler module caused all sorts of problems for me also.   With it installed, my join form simply didn't work, and my hosting company Alterhosting really went above and beyond the call of duty in tracking it down.  Just uninstall it - nobody seems to know what it does anyway, and your site will still work.

p.s.  Sorry Jordache, I should have thought of this when you contacted me.

Hi there!  I had the same problem with Dolphin 7.  I fixed it by choosing a Default language.  I had 2 language files (French and English) on my site but none selected.  I chose English as my default language (top of the Language Setting page), then cleaned All Cache from the main Admin page and voila, the problem was fixed, my Fields Builder page was loading again.  :)

I hope this helps.

That was it. I had it on another language instead of English and it didn't load. It works fine. Thanks for the input. May save other a lot of headache when it happens.

Hi can anyone please help, I've followed the steps in this thread but still I just get a "loading message" in join form on the profile fields builder. I've set the language and cleared the cache. As I don't want to run a dating site can anyone please help me remove the "Looking For" on registration??

Is there some other way it can be done without profile fields builder?

Many thanks.

ah thanks I've managed to get it working by just keeping refreshing the page. it was annoying having to refresh 10 or so time until it appeared but luckily I don't have to change the join form much so not too much of a problem

I had the same problem. My profile fields were working just fine for about a month. Then one day I logged on and they were gone. Also just says "Loading" and never does anything. I have had a lot of hackers trying to use my join form to re-route my database (known as creating a black hole?) I wonder if they are altering it somehow. I tried uninstalling the profiler module and still nothing. Would greatly appreciate more input on this as yes, Dolphin is pretty much worthless without it!!!

I tried everything everyone here has suggested and still I cannot get my profile fields back.  Very frustrating. I have not changed any code on any pages or changed any settings that I know of that would be related to this. Just saying...this is kind of a big problem.

Please check if you have any JS errors on this page and post it here.

Also try to check it with different browsers.
