I had the member to report the bug with the timeline; which I think is related to customised pages and maybe FF20, so I upgraded to FireFox 20 and my right click menu became this huge long mess of a menu with all possible actions, playing video, etc. I could not do a right click and open a link into a new menu and PDF files would hang constantly when trying to scroll the page, and it would lock the browser as well. FireFox 20 seems to have some serious issues. I rolled back to version 19 by downloading and installing back over version 20. This "we will update every x weeks" is BS. Just make a fast browser that is adheres to the standards and forget all this added crap; it is what I call the Swiss Army Knife Syndrome; you add so much crap to it, it loses what it was originally made for. Huh, Firefox 20 has been pleasant for me. Private windows seem to slow everything down, but the rest of the browser has been the bee's knees. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
Maybe my upgrade went wrong; I used the upgrade button. Do you have this long right click menu to appear? I could not open links in new tabs, the built-in pdf reader would hang the browser, it was a mess. I might try downloading the version and installing it instead of doing an upgrade to test. However, unless an upgrade fixes a security hole or a memory leak or improves the speed at which it renders web pages, I don't want it. I don't want all this crap they keep hanging onto the browser; however, I see Google is doing the same with Chrome. Geeks, making the world a better place |
I also had some problems with long columns with this version of firefox, but only with a couple custom templates. Moving blocks around seemed to fix it, not sure what was causing this. http://ModMyCMS.com --> Dolphin Hacks &Mods |
I am not sure either and it would display correctly only to return to the long header on a page refresh; I found out it was the header block that was exceedingly long; and only on the timeline which contains links for add video, sounds, links, etc. Geeks, making the world a better place |

Yeah, I think I'm seeing the same thing here....but just on some 3rd-party templates.
It's like the bottom falls out of a block and goes running 3 feet down the page!
So you simply moved the block elsewhere and all resolved itself then?
Guess I'll try that then....I just hope other blocks aren't doing on other members browsers....surely they see the same as I?
I wish there was a "code-fix" so I would know for sure it was truly resolved.

I had one to say he fixed it by changing his background on his profile page. I have not idea why that would be the case as what would a background on the page have to do with the header for a block being a mile long? I think he probably reverted back some other changes such as font size. I am wondering if it has to do with the links on the header of the post to timeline that is part of the problem since no other block was affected. It seems that FF 20 may have made some changes to how it renders CSS; the problem did not show up in IE9. Geeks, making the world a better place |

Yes
The problem always occurred on the right hand part of the template in blocks toward the bottom using custom templates.
Switching blocks around did help it for example switching the tags block with the calender block.
