Avatar and Profile Pic

Hello,

I am a new Dolphin install and trying to get it set up. One thing that I noticed was the Avatar feature with the cartoon looking avatar images. My site is business related so I definitely don't want users to have cartoon avatars.

I tried to disable in the admin panel but that still showed up. I then had my consultant try to turn off and he said that he edited the code to remove and now use the profile pic. But it is acting buggish in that the profile pic is different from what is displayed as the user pic (formerly avatar), which makes it confusing for the user.

Is this normal? Was there an easier fix? I can't be the only one who did not want cartoon avatars on my site. Is there a profile plugin to fix it?

If you did want the users to be able to upload an avatar but did not want the cartoon images, you could have just removed all the default avatar images.  Also, if you wanted to remove the avatars, you were suppose to uninstallled the avatar module.  Then profile photos thumbs would be used instead of the avatars and the avatar link would have went away as well.

So to answer your question, it was done the wrong way.

Thanks for the help! I may need to try to switch over the way you described.
