Automatic RMS installer

Installer for Debian/Ubuntu OS

Simply fill in several fields:
-IP
-domain authorized to use the RMS
-path to the Java interpreter (Java)

The application itself will download the package from the RMS and configure it accordingly.

How to use:

Download the archive. Extract. File rms.sh send to an FTP server to a directory accessible from the web level (example: public_html)
Log on to the server via SSH (root) and get sent file to ftp

wget http://your_domain.tld/rms.sh

give the permissionr to execute downloaded file

chmod 777 rms.sh

then run the file

./rms.sh

answer questions and enjoy your server installed rms

I'm trying this on a test server right now...

Feedback in a while, if this works correct your going to make a lot of people here happy..

 or get a lot of people suspended from their hosting account.

 this work :) I wrote the applications for their own convenience, however, many people already uses it

 I decided to wait untill I get extra box, and do from scratch.. not touching my running server, it has RMS running perfectly. lol

This script does not interfere in any way in the system.
The only measure is to install additional applications that can display a dialogue box in the console.

the rest are just downloading the server and their configuration according to the data entered during installation

not saying there is anything wrong with your work. the problem is that many hosts will not be happy for somebody installing this. though they provide SSH access, this installation could get them banned from the server, because it is a streaming media device, and similar to shoutcast, not all hosts would allow such an install.

 i will be checking this out in the days ahead, but generally, we tweak our RMS installs and not all installs are the same, the other part of this is that if jre is not installed and they cant find the path to java binary, then RMS will not work there either.

so yes, where one is on a VPS or Dedicated server, this could very well prove to be a solution.

I used it for installation, it's great ! I had some problems with the path at first, because I tried to install RMS in /usr/local. It worked - all services were waiting for doing something  - but who would ever have been capable to watch some videos down there in the everglades of Ubuntu? Thus, I installed it in a folder accessible from the web, as I can read in the description given here. With ports 1935 and 5080 arranged for the server in ConfigSys, everything is perfect now. And indeed, you have to begin the installation as root via SSH (Putty a.s.o), chose the SSH-path to your folder and install down there on your Unix platform. Everything  else can be done via FTP. I recommend FileZilla, because it allowes you to login via SSH and to find the root-path to your website easily. Thanks for this tool - it was horror to change the IPs in every module before I found it
