Auto generate wall command on new signup?

Is it possible to auto insert first wall command after signup?
it should say something like ... <member> joined <sitename> :-)

Now it's only showing in member activities

You have the spy module but it's a pain to work with.

There is this module http://www.boonex.com/m/Auto_Greetings but it sends a letter.

There is no main wall for site to see all activity unless your friends with that member.
