Auto Join Group Module - This is now compatible with Dolphin 7.2 . For those upgrading from Dolphin 7.1, just re-upload the module files (no re-install needed).

An issue with the installation has been resolved. Re-upload the files.

I need to hear from someone. I installed this mod several days ago but new members are NOT automatically made a member of the groups I selected. I have sent emails and messages and gotten only one response. Someone needs to contact me soon.

Your members are not automatically added on Join because your site is configured so that Administrator has to manually approve profiles. Once you approve the new member in the Admin panel you will notice that they are added to the Groups they selected.

On the second (more extensive) sign-up page there is definitely an area containing the names of all groups. I see no way to select particular ones, though.  Please tell me what I should be doing. Thanks once again. :)

It is a multi-select box. Persons can click on a entry to select or hold down the control key to select multiple. I will look into the possibility of probably change it to a check box listing.

There should be some instructions to do this. The box containing group names DOES appear, but users are not told what to do. People need specific instructions. Additionally, many sites are both INVITE ONLY, and new members require APPROVAL. So, this mod should make allowances for those facts and function with either or BOTH of those features selected. Your mods are very useful, but this particular one needs to allow Administrators to KNOW that if someone joining meets the criteria selected, that they WILL be added to a group as intended - regardless if the APPROVAL or INVITE ONLY features are activated. PLEASE add some extra lines of magical code that will allow this functionality - or be a bit more specific in your description of this mod so that potential buyers will know in advance under which conditions the mod will not function. For me - as it is now - new members cannot know how to select groups to be a member of on join page, nor are they automatically made a member if they fit the criterion I selected. PLEASE help.

@NtWbMstr - It is not logical to add a member to a group BEFORE they are approved as a legitimate site member. As I mentioned earlier, once the site administrator approve the new member they are automatically added if they meet the criteria.

An update has been made to resolve an issue with auto-adding Groups. Re-upload the module files.

Hi Modzzz. Just as a quick query, I have 2.0.0 installed, I downloaded 2.0.1 and re-uploaded the files via FTP.

When I go to the backend version I see:

Auto Join Group version 2.0.0 by modzzz.com

How can I make sure this "label" is updated to 2.0.1 ?

I can easily lose track over time of what I've updated and what I haven't if the back end doesn't reflect the actual version number.

Please advise. Thank you.

If this mod is added once members are on the site, can it be used to move members that meet certain criteria to a respective group?

@TravelNotes - No, that functionality does not exist and would have to be added as a customization.

Is it possible to put members in groups based on custom fields, for example, State?

 This could be done but code changes will be needed.

 What If the current field for City was modified to a Multiple Selector type and just the caption changed to state?

@gem266 - The module is designed to use the fields specified on the product description page in they way they exist in default Dolphin. Any modification of these fields or the use of other fields can be accommodated but I would have to make the code adjustments to your version of the module.
