Hello,

like this mod but found two things not working. Tested using Chrome.

1) When trying to "Manage fans" screen freezes, see pic.

2) When rating an expert there is a slider to use. This slider you can slide from both right and left, see pic. Actual result is taken by the left slider.

Example.
I marked right slider that is a 5 grade.
Result comes out as 1 due to left slider chosen.
I go back and edit left slider to 3 and right slider to 4. See pic.
Result comes out as 3 due to left slider chosen.
On "Available Experts" the rating is still 1. On "Reviews" it is now showing 3.

Hello!
I can choose multiple categories but don't see any subcategory functionality in Ask the Expert as I do in Business listing.
The attached picture shows category current category functionality. No subcategories?

When I send out an invite from actions nothing happens. Is that likely to be due to some setting not related to Ask the expert?

Hi,

thank you for the quick address!
It is now possible to add experts into sub-categories after doing the latest patch.

There is however an error message that shows in Expert categories, see attached.

Hello,

I'm seeing points being deducted and awarded at the point where a question is being asked.

Points should be awarded at the point there is an answer correct?

"When a Question is answered, the specified Credits would be debited from the Asker Account and Credited to the Expert Account." This makes sense.

The Credit needs to be subtracted at the time of asking the Question to prevent persons who do not have sufficient credits from asking Questions, however, it should not be allocated to the Expert until after the Question is answered. I am re-working the mod to allow members to specify how long an expert has to answer a question before it is cancelled and Credits refunded. So the new flow will be:

a) Member asks Question and Credits is deducted from Asker account.

b) Expert answers Question and Credits is transferred to Expert account.

   or

c) Expert fails to answer question in given time then Question is cancelled and Credits refunded to Asker account.

That sounds like the very right thing to do. Clever.

To see if any of my experts have a pending question that they need to answer I find it to be a 3 step process.

1. First go to my Profile page.

2. Then Click on one of my experts.

3. Then go into each individual expert to see if they have received any questions that needs to be answered.

As Expert having an unanswered question would typically be something you'd like to be aware off.

In case the expert have missed the mail or forgotten about it, it could be solved by having a Block sitting on the Account page.

Showing "Expert Name" "(2)" Showing the number of unanswered questions. By clicking on the number you're taken to the questions.

The Block would only appear if there are current unanswered questions. Is that something that could be included on your upcoming update?

Thank you for your attention.

I think there is a bug in the permissions for asking an expert a question. I'm finding that users must have the "expert add expert" permission in order to ask a question.  Otherwise, this m/expert/question/add/1 page comes up with "you do not have permission..."

We're now using the Expert Module and have some questions about it - is there any resource for how to find things and how they work?

For example - how does a member "become" an expert? Is this a site admin function? Where? Does a site admin "create" an expert or does the expert "create" his/her own space?

We thought we had everything set up, but we are missing the Ask A Question/Answer a Question operations, so something is wrong. I think it's in how we went about "creating" the Expert.

What are the best guidelines? What works?

Thanks much - CHOPS

Login to your site and go to http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/m/expert/home . You should then see an 'Add Expert' button in the upper right section.

Is this an option that is available for all members? Or is there a place where I need to approve it? Or do I delete it if I don't want that person to become an expert on my panel?

Thank you for getting to my response so quickly.

Gary

OK - we are trying to get there.

Even though there are questions, when we look at the Browse Questions block as a site member, it is empty. That's not right is it?

And is the Comment box for Answers, or is there an Answer button the expert uses to create and post an answer?

STill confused - Gary

In the membership actions in Admin panel, you can enable/disable membership levels that have the ability to become an Expert. If you only need Administrator to have this ability then disable the option for all membership levels.

OK - I can work with that about admins and experts. What about my second question? this is the one that is most confusing to us. We need to get this working ASAP as it is a key part of our site, and does not seem to work. Would you please give us assistance until we have it working?

Thank you, Gary

The email notification when a question is sent is going out to me, the admin, and not to the expert. Can it go to both the expert and the admin? How do you change that?

Thanks much, CHOPS

The mod was designed so that the person who created the Expert profile should get the notification. It is sent to their Profile email. The only way an Admin should be getting it is if the Admin is the creator of the Expert profile.

Hi Modzzz,

At the moment, as admin, I'm working hand in glove with my experts to get them set up and in the habit of answering questions, paying attention to notifications, etc. It would sure be great if your Module could include a place to set the email addresses of those who should get the notifications, and accommodate more than one - the expert and the admin or admins. That would really help. Right now, in order to correct this, I'd have to wipe out my "Expert" once again, and hand-hold him while he creates it himself, which he may not be inclined to do. So my only other option at this point is to forward the notification emails that he gets, which are sent to me, because of the way this is set up.

That would certainly be a major improvement from my perspective.

Thanks and keep up the good work,  Gary

@CHOPS - The module has been adjusted so that if you enter an email in the contact details on the Expert Profile, the notification will also be sent to it. Download the module again and re-upload the modules\modzzz\expert\classes folder.

Hi Modzzz - I think we are still having trouble with this module. We did a question, and the expert posted his answer, but I just can't seem to find it. I would expect to be able to see all of the expert's questions and answers in one area - that is the idea, right? How can we work on this together, so it becomes useful. At the moment, it's just confusing and hard to use.

Thanks much, CHOPS

So this is the page I want to see - which was generated and I got a link to it via the notification - http://autismanimated.com/dolph/m/expert/question/view/Research-on-use-of-avatars-in-autism-therapy

But I can't find it via the website - I think it should show up under the Expert's "Answered Questions" or somewhere where everyone can see it.

Thanks, CHOPS

Go to the expert view page and you will see a sub-menu. This sub-menu has the link to the questions.

Additionally the expert view page has blocks for Pending Questions, UnAnswered Questions and Answered Questions. If you are not seeing those blocks look in the page builder to see if they are deactivated.

If you still have issues after following my advice above, provide the Admin login so I can actually look at the site to see why you are not seeing features that are a normal part of the module.

It seems that since my update to Dolphin 7.3.3, the menu block in the module gets pushed all the way down to the bottom of the page. Previously it was easy to see on the right column. Are there any controls for the position of the content on the page? How can I get the menu with "Ask A Question" up where we can easily find it?
