I can't access the arvixe.com website or my own??

"This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

  • Internet connectivity has been lost.
  • The website is temporarily unavailable.
  • The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
  • The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
  • There might be a typing error in the address.
  • If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section."

Faithful, you are up.  Your server did time out on pinging so I took a browser to your site I've never had there before and you resolved beautifully, I also checked the arvixe.com site and it's up.

I ran into this problem when I lived in Peterborough and tried to reach US Servers, it would just seem to be gone when it was fine.  Try sending an e-mail to Arvixe support and ask them to verify the server and such is up.  But I'm telling you I just look at it at 4:03 PM EST and it's running great.

Maybe let some others check it for you too.

I can access both my site and arvixe.
try flushing your DNS

on windows vista and 7: Start --> type cmd.
in the dos screen type in ipconfig/flushdns

On windows XP: Start --> run type in cmd

in dos screen type the same as above: ipconfig/flushdns

Restart your browser and it should work.

also, you may need to clear the router if you are on one. there was a time that i couldnt get to the boonex site and it was my router that decided to block it for some unknown reason. electronics are amazing sometimes.

Dosdawg, do you remember a time when another guy in Canada kept calling and dropping support tickets for a site that he had hosted with you and he couldn't find it but you and everyone else could.  That guy was running a D Link wireless router and it had an issue with the rate of transfer that was causing the issue.  Once he got a hold of D Link they walked him through how to fix it and change the rate until it worked flawlessly.  I'm thinking since Faithful isn't far from where that guy was that it's probably the same problem.

Faithful, do you have a D Link router?  If you do, call them, this is within the router, I promise you.

I called arvixe support and they said it's an issue with bell not updating their dns settings, but then I called bell and they said it was a problem with vista(I hate bell, everytime I phone I get somebody I can't even understand), which makes no sense because it  was working earlier. At any rate buddy at arvixe said wait a few hours and it should auto update, he said if it did not to phone back and they would phone bell.

Side note: Arvixe has the best customer support on the net period.

Faithful, this used to happen to me all the time, it turned out to be the router, I swear that to you.  Have you moved your site from one host to another?

All good now brother, phoned bell again hoping I would not talk to another idiot stick again and I didn't. The guy at bell confirmed what arvixe said and he gave me a dedicated dns and ip till it updates and all is gravy except for the wife got really pissy because I spent more than enough time troubleshooting this bitch.

Again, arvixe rocks!

Thanks for all the input guys.

I would try the router as well. Im with Arvixe as well as have Bell (reseller) as my isp. Both my test site as well as arvixe is up and running.

Ive had some problems with Bell and routers as well, with not being able to see certain websites, since my router MTU was set for higher than 1492 (bell doesnt accept higher). Not saying that this is is the issue in your case, but may be worth looking into.

Are you having problems with any other sites but arvixe?
