App modification as a service

Hi every one..

I saw some members calming that they manged to modify the app. Specially " add site" thing is useless for individual websites.

There's no point of posting what you have done if you are not willing to share what you have archive. It may be easy for you. But stil many iphone app customers like me waiting for this. If you can please provide the modification as a service in the market so we will pay for it.

Thanks

Alternatively, you can hire a freelance developer who can make these modifications for you.

We have done this for a couple of clients already.

The "multi-site" add site options are not needed when branded specificaly for a site.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. If you can please put it as a service under market. I think you can get some extra bucks.

i have advertised it on many freelance website but  the simple modification will cost 5 times than the total app cost!

How much you charge just to remove the add site feature from the app?

so member will prompt the predefinied site url when they open the app

Thanks

There are a few different points to this process of what we will be offering:

1) a rebranded version of the iPhone application with "just your site" access and logo's etc

2) removing the multi site options, and making it specific to "your site"

3) - we are expanding some of the feature sets of the app (not released yet)

Scenario's:

A) We rebrand the app for client and we submit to itunes store under our license   ($79.99)

(this includes 1 year of application updates to the binary when changes or bug fixes are released)

B) We rebrand the app for client and package the binary for submission and you use your own itunes license ($100.00)

*you must understand the process of xcode and provisioning with apple and itunes*

C) TBA - We HAVE not priced out what we would charge for the modifications and changes to the iPhone source as of yet, since some items are requiring server side adjustments, this could term into a long term nightmare if we do not have the processes in place to handle the builds.

If you are interested in the source modifications, this can be discussed offline, but currently not something on the top of our list, as iPad version is next, then Android.  (yes we are looking for beta testers for iPad and soon Android OS devices)

Here are some current screen shots of the running app with the changes we have made.

1) notice the "Gear" at the top left, this is were a user can edit the login details.

2) when the app is first installed, and the user selects the center logo (basically if the center screen is touched) it will login to the site with the details provided. (if no information is stored, it brings up the login window)

I think your  1) and 2) points  should take as a one service.

In your screen-shot, it stil says "save" on the right top corner. It should say "login" button, else the app saves the login details on the app and if we put a different login details, then the second user's login details will not replace the old one. It will add on to its stack of user logins on the app, which is not good. You cant physically see it. Remember, this is not the same  as "Remember me"  feature.

I also managed to edit the app to that point but it will not fix the real issue.

The best option to sell the service is to submit the modified version of your app on the itunes as a free app. then members can use it , test it and then buy from you.

Submitting a  binary version from your license behalf  of others is ok, But we need the  modified source code as well.

in your section B) you said "we package the binary and you use your own itunes license" I think it will not work because in-order to package the binary, we need the app  provisioning profile and recompile it again  from the xcode. So you will have to provide the complete modified version of the app.

Im not sure about the legal issue here. Also there must be a way to differentiate  members who has iphone app  license. otherweise some one can purchase the modification for $100 and it will leak the original app.Unlike selling themes  app is bit different. because the dolphin software itself is free,  we dont have any issues with the website. But we need boonex management advice at this point.

Thanks

Hello...

I kept the SAVE button, as per the UI requirements from apple, if you have an action that saves data, you have to have it.

(to enter different login details (user and pass) you would just click the "preferences icon"

- we are looking at the option of creating an account from the app as well-

Not sure what you mean about adding to the STACK, each users details are flushed from when they are changed on the iPhone.

With respect to your comment on my Section b) you do NOT need the complete package to submit, if you are submitting it via iTunes, you can just add us as a developer to your dev account, and we can generate the associated profiles at that time. (if needed)

We are not in the position to distribute the source as we have it, since we are adding alot of features and developing the iPad version and moving onto Android based devices, we still need to keep a decent track on the code. (I am looking at setting up a git for it, but still thinking thru the process)

We would only offer specific services to people whom have purchased and have right too the Boonex iPhone application. (there are a couple of ways to verify and track this)

you are going to hack the iphone app as a custom service, and you are going to charge $199 when it costs $100 to submit to apple?

so what is your time frame in which you can turn around an iphone app customized to a clients satisfaction? how many hours, 30? so you are going to work for ~$3.00/hour?

Hi,

Some one already doing it for $299 but he has only 1 market place point. So i thought no one interested.

If u browse some  posts you will find i clearly explained how to edit this. absolutely for free.

http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/Increase-the-number-of-profiles-in-seach-Solved-.htm

Sorry for being so kind and i think being kind will cause the negative feedback!
Actually some one PM me and asked  me to not to post more modification details in the forum as every one can get it for free! (hello??)

Modified cost is $300

Remember, either you can charge more and can have less customers
or
sell it in a law price and can have many customers.

So in the end of the day its almost the same!

Before talking about the price i will put  my app and will give the link. So better check it.
As in Australia, im having some legal issues. Hopefully i i will put it on the next few weeks!

It tooks more 3 weeks to edit the app completely and 3 months to fix the crashes. Even original app stil crashing once u do the search!
So i cannot guaranteed about crash. How ever yes you can have a unique iPhone app!

Thanks

It's not that no one is interested.  For any site owner to legally have a rebranded Boonex iPnone app, they must first purchase a prime license for $998.  I doubt very many people here have purchased a prime license.

Then, they will have to pay $200 to $300 in addition to that, to have someone rebrand the app for them.  That's a lot of money to spend on an iPhone app that can't even upload videos
